Julie I love the work you do and all of your resin experiments. I am obsessed with dragons. Your large dragon mold is magnificent Sadly it is to dear for me to afford on my fixed income. I am a 76 year old resin fanatic. Love the stuff and what we can turn out. Please do keep up your good work. G-day Mate..

Just gorgeous. I saw a video last week that had a great trick to use with removing the backing on self-adhesive pieces. You take two pieces of ordinary masking tape and put one piece on the backing, and one piece on the thing you are going to adhere. Make sure they don't touch, but are almost back to back. Then, just pull them apart. The sticker comes loose from the backing like magic. I tried it today, and it took a couple of tries to get it to work but after that it worked like it should. I have a terrible time with stickers, so was delighted to learn this "hack".

If you mess up aligning your backing on a circle, it should be possible to take off the overhang with a razor knife and stick it on the gap opposite. You should just have to turn it 180° and slap it down.

When the color shifting thing came along in the makeup world, I did some Google foo and found out that more often than not it's just a mix of a mica with an interference. With the intense chameleons, I believe it's more or less the same but the mica is dyed black. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I also suspect that their blend might also include finely milled foils or glitter.

My thought is to put a small insert to go under it and then lay it over top so it shapes it for you. You know like a shell shape or a tree and the press the thin piece over top to give it a nice shape. Does that make sense?

I wonder if you could fill your larger molds with a plain black resin, thin like you did here, fold it into the smaller mold, THEN dust... my thought is that then any edges that might be a bit off would still have color on them..... ?

Hi , Hope you are doing well. Your Videos and your art work are amazing. I haven’t used resin before but now i want to make few items with resin. I am totally new. I just want to know is it toxic and dangerous for lungs and shouldn’t be used in house because I have two little kids. Can you guide me please? Many thanks

@Bareerah Ramzan Hi, dear! Yes, ALL resin is toxic, by its very nature. However, not everyone reacts to it, and some resins (types & brands) are far more toxic than others. It is recommended to always wear PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) such as gloves, fume mask, and goggles. If doing indoors, the room must have a lot of ventilation and, preferably, an air purifier. Definitely keep away from children and pets! There are a LOT of web articles and KZbin videos talking about PPE. Definitely b worth exploring. 😊💕

@ChibiChula

They look pretty! 😁 Not quite like the other one though. I think that the sweet spot is going to be making the initial pour 3mm thick. 🤔 It was too thick at 4mm and at 2mm it's a bit too thin and didn't give the soft fold look, it's more like a crumpled look. Not a bad look but not quite like the big one either. It is quite interesting to see the difference that the thickness of your first pour makes. 🤓👍 BTW, if I made something like this I'd probably use tape around the edge of the whole coaster and flood the back. The tape would stop any dome from forming if it's high above the edge, plus it would keep in any possible leaks from the folds that go to the edges. The cork is a good solution too but I'm a tiny bit OCD about seeing that brown edge at the bottom so I'd at least need to paint the edge of the cork black. 😅

Do the tops have an edge around them? Just curious that if so, how come not fill in with a final thin clear coat? I've never made coasters with resin (I make tumblers) so I'm genuinely just curious. I've had cameleon powders for months and coaster sized molds and still haven't used them but I am excited to do so! These turned out beautiful!
