I was at a show yesterday in credit one stadium in Charleston great show very well run venue but it was so hot and humid I saw ems taking people out on stretches the bands were all great and they were troopers playing in that heat under hot lights

Another great venue! What a place. You know, looking around riding with you on the walkabout, I think that is a rare amphitheater where if I was attending a show, I think I might actually like it better to be out on the grass. Backstage right along the river looks really nice (in the shade!). The funny thing on my mind is this... two or three years ago I went to a concert at the Jacobs Pavilion in The Flats in Cleveland. Right along the river, again, the back of the stage nearly at the water's edge, but this time with the river being the Cuyahoga, and the audience view of the stage has downtown Cleveland as a backdrop. Visually impressive in a much different way, the funny thing being that it's like the antithesis of your gig venue this evening. (Side note, the concert was King Crimson, with The Zappa Band opening, so the whole thing was MUCH different!) You had a kayak and some tube based craft go by... before the Cleveland concert, we watched a giant lake freighter go past maybe 50 feet away, with people onboard waving at us from a level maybe 20 feet higher. Contrast!

From #1420: In the fall of 2016, Tim O’Leary, co-founder of KettleHouse Brewing Co, and Nick Checota, owner of the Top Hat Lounge, The Wilma, and Logjam Presents, were attending the same business lunch in Missoula to talk about tourism and its effect on the Montana economy. Nick mentioned that he was looking for an outdoor venue to hold concerts. At the next break, Tim, who was in the middle of putting the finishing touches on our new brewery in Bonner, MT, approached Nick and suggested that he come take a look at our spot on the Blackfoot River. A few days later, Nick came out to the site and a week later (this may be a slight exaggeration, but only slight), there were bulldozers and backhoes.

Thus began a collaboration between KettleHouse Brewing Co and KettleHouse Amphitheater - a state of the art, 4,000 capacity amphitheater on the banks of the Big Blackfoot River in Bonner, Montana. Outdoor concerts with a craft brewery a hundred feet away - does it get any better? Nick achieved the near impossible and broke ground in October 2016 and welcomed Lyle Lovett and His Large Band for the inaugural concert on July 13, 2017.

@@armignac The full name is “Fresh Bongwater Hemp Ale”, and I find it refreshing and it is a top seller in the summer at the KettleHouse Taproom in Missoula,I’ve read. They also have a Porter called “Olde Bongwater”. Coldsmoke is fantastic, IMHO.

What another great venue! It’s new since I lived there. I lived in Missoula and also a couple of miles from the theatre between the mid 70’s and 1996. A great place to be from. Good music, the arts, great fishing and mild winters. I remember the early Aber Day Keggers…a true musical happens happening. Check it out on KZbin. The home band was Mission Mountain Wood Band and they’re still rocking.

I’ve been to live concerts at two different venues like this one, Bethel Woods on the grounds of the original Woodstock concert and the Verizon arena located on the north side of Indianapolis. Main difference between those two spots and this one is the absence at this one of the complete pavilion over the traditional seating. Meanwhile, as you go for skiing through the backstage area in your singular fashion, Leland, it puts me in mind of a fantasy that I have had since the 2000s. If the building where I attended middle school suddenly ceased to be a school building and I had the money to purchase it and keep it up, I would try transforming it into a music and art building where the auditorium was a central fixture, the cafeteria became commissary and the classrooms and gymnasium would be repurposed for the purpose of making music and art.

That has to be the quietest stage and vicinity that you have ever captured on video on your brilliant tour walkabout's ...since you began filming a couple of years back ?
