I have used old film like this and still do and developed it at home with many different chemicals, some simple, some more complex. Rodinal, RO9, HC-110, D-76, Dektol, Coffee, D-94 and D-95, on and on. They all work. some are faster some are slower.

I also heard Xtol is a good developer for Plus X, especially the really year old batches

I have a few packages but never used it yet. The latest tests were and are being done in ID-72 a high contrast Phenidone Benzotriazole developer that cuts through fog of older films

That held up really well. Are the older Kodak B&W Reversal stocks compatible with the current processing? I've wanted to try shooting Plus-X in either Super-8 or 16mm, but it seems that the only ones I can find are the generation before the last one, and they required a different chemistry.

For old BW there is always a developing solution. We've had some really good luck with some of the older stocks.

Great video!! Plus-X Pan is the best. Speaking of expired film, I was wondering what's the oldest film you own or have shot? Do you know of the oldest film FFP has for sale?

I would really like to shoot 16mm film, but it is impossible to develop it here in Croatia! It is very difficult to develop it at home because the developmental chemicals are unavailable or very expensive. :(:(

No chance of buying the Fomapan 100 R and its development kit over there?
@voyagersquaremuzika5 жыл бұрын
@@christianwalther3869 In Croatia no, but you can order it from the Czech Republic. This film is not really as expensive and other Foma products are not expensive also but scanning and developing is a differend story! :)

@@voyagersquaremuzika same here (I'm in Germany). There are recipes that describe how to create all required bathes yourself. Requires to get hold of the basic chemicals and mixing them yourself. Looking into this myself, want to give it a try.

I have a Yashica U-matic S that shoots double 8mm, do you know if this sort of 16mm film will work in it?
