When bike touring you’re rarely in the middle of nowhere, you’re always somewhere special that gives experiences that last a lifetime.

Thanks for sharing these trails.I love the way you set up camp in the middle of the track!Do that in Crete you might have an angry shepherd blowing his horn at you early in the morning😀

Actually in the middle of the night, an old tractor forced its way through the bushes and headed right towards our tent 😂 we didn’t want to step on the meadow though, since the meadow was freshly mowed and we didn’t want to squish the hay that’s supposed to dry 😅

About your Koga bike review: It would be nicer if the kickstands had metal feet with a 4-5cm bottom to decrease sinking in the sand. You need to find an offset pump mount, so that you can put a second water cage underneath your down tube. (It sounds like you are thirsty)
@biking_beyond2 жыл бұрын
Underneath the down tube is not enough space for a bottle, if you mount one you would hit it with the wheel when turning….🫠 and yes I was very thirsty during my tour, drinking 5l a day easily! To my defense, we oftentimes cycled in great heat with more than 40 °C 😄

Hi Guys. Nice video. Thanks. I just wondered how you navigate. You mentioned about uploading a route when you were half way to Tirana did you already have that route planned and if so how do you go about it? Thanks
@biking_beyond Жыл бұрын
We usually planned one or two days ahead (roughly) and used Komoot for that. Sometimes we tried to plan 1-2 weeks ahead roughly, if we had to catch a train/flight etc that we booked in advance, but in this case the stages were just a very rough estimation of kilometers. However we were not really happy with Komoot so I would not 100% recommend. We need to try alternatives soon 😊

Was it hard to be vegetarian in Albania?

I just wouldn't have the energy for bike touring if I didn't eat meat or eggs or oily fish. Omlettes with onions or mushrooms or bell peppers or asparagus are so nutritious and filling. Bacon as well, steaks, avocados. You need so much high quality protein bike touring to keep your muscles strong and give maximum chance of recovery. I don't eat crap processed foods full of carbs and sugar. Unfortunately much veggie and vegan food is full of carbs and little protein.

how do you bath and poop while wild camping ?
@biking_beyond2 жыл бұрын
For showering we used an Ortlieb water bag with shower adapter (shown in one some of our Spain vlogs) and pooping: either in nature or you find a (public) bathroom, which is quite easy! :)
