See… I’m frustrated because I took my wife to Red Rooster based on this video. And it wasn’t even CLOSE to this meal. The chicken was overcooked and under-seasoned, the mac was more greens than mac (legit just a clump of greens in the middle of the pasta) Cornbread was dry. The only thing that was even remotely good was the sweet potatoes, but it’s kinda hard to mess up sweet potatoes. We were so disappointed because we’re both fans of Marcus from Chopped, so we were extra excited when we saw him in this episode. Hopefully, whoever was on the stove that night was replaced, because I would NOT recommend wasting your time going there. Sylvia’s on the other hand is a CLASSIC. I’d definitely recommend it for some quality southern comfort food.

Correct. Red Rooster changed their menu after the pandemic, and what you see in this video is not what they serve anymore. They no longer serve the yardbird as an entree dish, and they don't even make the gravy that you see in this video anymore. In 2019, the yardbird entree dish was $28. Now they just serve it dry by the piece, and with a worse recipe.

yea, the really expensive one, take away caviar (it isn't even that nice), get chicken cut it into strips then egg yolk , bread crumbs, flour, put into deep fat frier, the dipping sauce is easy to make and pancakes are cheep, lets say 5$ a full family meal taste pretty much the same, also if we're spending 500 don't get cheap on us without the chips.

I got a chance to go to Red Rooster a couple years ago. I’m from the south and when I tell you it was the best fried chicken I’ve ever had, I’m not exaggerating at all.
