Dude, thanks for the short, informative video. I shake my head at the $8 bundles of bark for sale at my gas station. Your label dresses up that bundle. Good work, man!
@Mr_Guaq2 жыл бұрын
Brad, I started watching your videos a year ago, and you inspired my boys and I to start a firewood business. We get the free hardwood scrap cutoffs from local cabinet and door manufacturing shops, cut them up and bundle them. We are out west, so hardwood is hard to come by. All the firewood at the gas stations is white pine that shoots sparks like fireworks, so oak and poplar are hard to come by for campfire wood. My boys make 20 pound bundles and sell the poplar for $10 each or 4 for $30 and the oak $15 each or 4 for $15. Business is good. Thanks for the inspiration.

On back of label print how to have a safe effective fire one match, for city slickers.Yer welcome, good luck, great job !

@Aaronzap153 жыл бұрын
Yup I use shrink wrap also. Your home made bundler looks just like mine. I think they sell store bought wood for more because it has to be kiln dried and USDA approved. Kills the bugs and fungus. Nice job keep selling those bundles
@tombryan7203 жыл бұрын
I've told these woodhounds a dozen times or more how good wrapped bundles look with a professional looking flyer in it and not one of them ever listened. For some reason they love the bags no matter what the cost. Yeah many of the big chain hardware and convenient store chains that have wood brought in from other places face FDA regulations on top of the cost and I think the wood has to be kiln dried to lower the evasive species risk. Here in upstate Ny you can sell your firewood within 50 miles of point of harvest. You get caught crossing state lines without the fda papers it's big trouble. I just subscribed so I'll see how it goes here.

Great looking bundles! I do the same thing, my buddy welded my wrapper together and has a "T" stand for the bottom and is about the same height but I wanted a center support area so I can wrap on both ends and so far its worked out great. Mine also is 1CF but I sell them for 10 bucks, our local Lowes, HD and convenience stores are selling .6CF for 8-9.50 for that size. Im going to really focus on firewood next season and do less landscaping, Just bought a 2019 T590 skid steer and getting a grapple for it come spring so I have everything I need plus the tree company we work with, his dump yard is 5 minutes from my shop and all the wood I can cut for free and if thats not enough to persuade me to do more wood is another friend of mine is a log buyer and can get me log trucks of hardwood poles for 200 bucks!!!

I live in Indiana and I also sell firewood year-round for the winter I sell truckloads to homeowners and in the summer I sell bundles to a lot of folks living in campgrounds along the river and there are literally almost 100 campgrounds in a 50 mile stretch of the Ohio River and that's just on the Indiana side. I am the same price as you $5 a bundle but I offer a wholesale price if they take 20 bundles. Yours definitely look more professional I don't have labels, I'd like to find out how to get labels that look that nice. And I use the plastic Baler twine, two on each bundle 4 ft long. Another problem I have to deal with is I sell to gas stations to retail to the public.
