My mother also uses the water used in soaking / boiling the pulses, rajma chole etc( at room temperature) it's a good food for plants'health. Hey from the price that you mentioned the set makes more sense. But having said that I generally don't prefer buying sets. It depends if you need that many things really. Ideally storage is also something to think about. Also more cast iron pans means more maintenance work. So if I was starting out I would only stick to 1 or max 2 good quality cast iron things as cookware. This is what I feel
