More mistakes, Not using the right key fob and having settings change on you. Changing air pressure in your tires as the weather gets cold. Accidentally choosing the guest profile when asked to select a profile. Knowing that there is no spare tire with run flat tires. Don’t store the key fob too close to the car as it will run down the key fob battery. Making sure you change the battery in the key fob every couple of years. If you are having unknown issues with the infotainment system, not knowing that it can easily be reset by pressing the volume button and holding it for 30 seconds. For Spotify that you need a premium account to use it. BMW making electric vehicles. The number 1 mistake is not enjoying the car enough. It’s a pleasure to drive, enjoy every mile. Almost enough for a second video. Great videos, I really enjoy them.

@BeamerView Жыл бұрын
It should be a straight kick front to back at a medium pace. The point of your toe should be close to hitting the bumper so that's the angle you should be aiming for. Takes some practice to find the sweet spot. I have seen this feature act up a couple times in the past but also make sure you have your key fob on you when doing this.
@cmyachtie Жыл бұрын
Adding to my earlier comment on blinker stalk functionality you can also turn off your turn signal by the same movement when it stays on after turning the corner by pushing it lightly in the same direction as before. This is much easier than trying to turn it off by pushing the stalk in the opposite direction.

I bought a 2019 BMW X1 a few days ago (in the UK) and your last jokey comment about the blinkers - just touching the stalk up, only gives 3 blinks. I was on the motorway yesterday and it really needs double that or more to shift lanes on a busy road. Pushing up firmly seems to keep it on permanently and then you have to pull it down again to turn off. I had a Ford before this and their stalk has a self-cancelling feature, which is far better.
@BeamerView Жыл бұрын
Agreed, it's more so designed for a quick turn and for some roads that may not be enough. Usually, i would click it twice so it does extend the blinks a bit.

@BeamerView Жыл бұрын
Hey Mike, Congrats on the new BMW! You would have to choose one or the other, if you want to use the phone's data plan you would have to disconnect it from the hotspot. Couple things to mention to ya since it may be new to you. The last i remember, you may not be able to use Carplay or android auto being that the wifi network of the phone is needed to be free in order to have those features connected. If you do have an unlimited plan you could potentially use the wifi hotspot of the phone instead of the car. The main reason I can see someone using the BMW Hotspot, would be if kids their ipads in the car, that would help with having those connected.

I know the directional bit was a joke, but… if you have the driving professional package, the automatic lane change is initiated by just tapping on the stick like you did in the video, for the 3 blink before reset indication. Yes, that is probably one of the coolest features of all time for BMW. I know the very new Bmw is the ones such as the 5 series. You don’t even have to touch the stick. You can just look to the left or right side mirror and then the vehicle will change lanes all by myself. It’s pretty cool.

Hi. I have a 2021 X5 with the comfort package. Can you adjust the headrest backwards and forwards. It looks like you should be able to but I can work it out. Thanks.
@BeamerView Жыл бұрын
From the X5's that I've seen it doesn't come with the side button that allows you to move the headrest front and back like it does on the X3 and other BMW's. If you have the multi contour seating, there is one movement that moves the top half of the seat, front and back, which would include the headrest moving along with it.
@davidwells7377 Жыл бұрын
Thanks - You’ve got to where I’ve got to on this. I do have the comfort package so you can tilt the top half of the back of the seat which by default includes the headrest. But the headrest has two rails in the bottom of it that suggest it should move front and back but I can’t for the life of me see how. Anyone else know?
@BeamerView Жыл бұрын
Hey David, looked into it a bit. It could come down to two different reasons. 1. BMW uses the same headrest for the BMWs that do allow forward and backward movements. 2. It's used to access a safety mechanism for technitions to work on within the headrest, something having to do with a crash sensor.. Is there an explanation why my wireless charger (M x6 competition) won't charge my phone? I've taken the case off, used a different phone and still no signal. When I asked at the dealership, their answer was that it is used only to charge the fob. Are they wrong?
@BeamerView Жыл бұрын
Hey Meg, thanks for reaching out. Couple things I would check for. Many BMW's the last couple years have been having wireless charging shortages so I would make sure on the window sticker that it is listed on there. The way you know its working is that when you place it on there, you should see a blue light pop up near the phone on the charging tray. Phones also have to be newer and compatible to the wireless charging feature which im sure you are already aware of. I do believe you are doing it correctly, but yes make sure the case is off and make sure it is placed flat and centered on the tray. The dealer is incorrect on this one. The key fob is battery operated which you can switch out by pulling the back piece of the key fob off, so it's not rechargeable. I would try another dealer if one is around you. Another thing you could refer to, BMW makes 2 different trays. The one that is a charging tray should have a battery and thundebolt in the center like this picture. www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/charging-device/84105a3e813/?gclid=Cj0KCQiA_P6dBhD1ARIsAAGI7HDPkPTpTKrIVjB1wI58W2OrY3DB8m2fTukpGOrU1GWM53-EZD1BOrAaAsJnEALw_wcB If it doesn't have that then for sure it cannot wireless charge.

Only in NAV is split screen available. The widgets that you see on the home screen are customizable though which is similar to having a split screen though.

The lock button does NOT work if it is cold out though. I knew that about the hood latch, and it is also true to close it, you have to push twice on the hood for it to close completely. My iPhone won't shut off when I turn my BMW off, it just keeps playing until I lock my SUV. So annoying!!! I wish you would tell me how to make that stop.

Hold the volume button down for three seconds to turn off the screen. That should also disconnect the phone.

2 questions .......on my 2022 X5 , is it possible to increase the tone / sound of the indicator click? And can the main instrument panel brightness be increased, thanks in advance 🙏

Question 1. For the indicator you cannot change the sound. If any other sounds you do wish to change go into car settings > settings > general settings > tone > sound settings. Question 2. Yes, at NIGHT TIME, use the scroll knob near the lighting controls to adjust the brightness.

Blinker 😂!! We recently moved to San Antonio, TX and it appears that using a blinker was not on anyone’s driver’s test, because NO ONE USES IT!! You do however have to learn to be a mind reader to know they’re switching lanes or else you will be hit!! 😢

Great video! By any chance do you know the reason why some older BMWs does not update the service mileage? I saw this is a common issue in forums and I was wondering if you have any tricks or advices on that. I’ve already put 4000 miles on my used BMW and the “Next Service” counter stay still at 6000 miles. Appreciate if you can help. Other than that, disregard the negative comments and keep going bro!
@BeamerView2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Gustavo! I've found the service mileage to be very inconsistent with the vehicles, yes typically every oil change is every 10,000 miles but the service intervals on my last car were off by even 4k miles for the brakes. They say the mileage can very depending how one is driving. So if there is different style of driving in different situations then its possible that it will not be accurate. Regardless, there are sensors within the vehicle that are separate from the intervals, so if anything was due for service the vehicle would let you know.

The inside rear view mirror is only manually adjustable, the rear glass, there should be a small switch that you can turn at the END OF THE WIPER STICK/STOCK, just twist it and it should turn it on, and to wash, twist harder.

@BeamerView2 жыл бұрын
Yes that is quite unfortunate. Unfortunately you can’t have Apple CarPlay and the radio because both of them are different audio sources. But one thing you could try is to download a app such as iHeartRadio so then that way you can play the radio from your phone essentially and still have Google maps playing at the same time.
