I've only seen two games played by Strongsville and it's very easily recognized that these girls have no sportsmanship whatsoever. Always grabbing the other players shirts, tripping them, and then when they do get called for it they throw a fit and play victim. They are extremely good players but these girls need to learn that they can still win a game with being kind.

This is the kind of game I like to referee. Skilled, fouls become more obvious and not just reckless clashes. Good on the referee. Good calls.

Why did the ref disallow the goal by green when the goalie dropped it and the attacker ran it in? Why are the coaches on the field? 5:40 not a yellow card at all, it was a collision. 8:50 should have been a PK Goalie kicked her in the legs when she came out. Final score should have been 3-1

Let me help you William.1. Not sure why the coaches are on the field.2. The player ran in to the player playing the ball. She made no contact at all with the ball and the player playing the ball was in a vulnerable position. Easy yellow.3. You could make an argument for a pk except the attacking player had released the ball and the ball went out of play. She had not been stopped by the goalie from continuing the play since the ball was heading out of touch. Interesting enough, a ref can apply the laws from #2 to this situation and you could have a yellow card applied without a pk. That would drive the arm chair refs crazy however!

Not sure why these schools count down all the way to zero at the end of a half, where I live and play they stop the clock with minutes left and then announce the extra time allotted. Doesn’t seem these girls are making up for any stoppage time at all. Such a shame.

There is no stoppage time in Ohio that exceeds 40 minutes of play. The countdown to zero is for the referee’s benefit as an audio aid to determine if a ball crosses the whole endline for a last second goal. He has to watch the play, not the clock.

The stoppage of play was an unwise decision by the official. However, the white GK at 8:40 should have been cautioned for the challenge. She was out of control and the ball was past. In the end, neither call effected the outcome of the game which is good.

The keeper’s play was to the ball in defense of the goal. The referee perspective would have been on that same line of sight, albeit lower than ours. It was a DOGSO action, so no card, no need to caution. That was just rough, but good play. I would have let that go so long as no player was hurt.

That wasn't a penalty in my opinion

If your referring to the PK, I must disagree. That looks like a PK of the stone cold variety to me...

I agree with BruinsChampions2011 here. There was a push from a white defender which then led to the contact with the goalkeeper. I agree it's an obvious penalty.

Terrible by the ref to stop the clock on a foul that a card wasn’t shown for, and also no one was injured in. High school refs are atrocious

The referees in high school (myself included) are entitled to stop the clock whenever we deem it necessary to keep the game fair. In this situation the team getting fouled has a pretty clear opportunity to score, and the opponents were less than the required 10 yards, a common time-wasting tactic. So, since the opponents choose to sit closer than 10 yards, the referee stopped the clock to walk off the required distance. Not the referees fault for an easy thing to NOT do.

Rooster Not all high school refs. The refs in my games don't do that (not saying they're better cause I mean...refs are refs some do good some do bad) and there's a lot of different things done in my state than in this. But at the end refs are going ti make mistakes and we have to deal with them which sucks but oh well

The referee has the discretion to stop the clock, at any point. And the player is lucky to not get a card. A player committing a foul in order to try and burn the clock could be seen as a tactical foul and a Cautionable offense

less than 10yds away from the ball that was at midfield w/2 sec left?? It was an unnecessary stoppage. Imagine if this was a playoff game & that goal cost a team their season. It wasn't a deliberate time wasting tactic. The defender actually won the ball, she just followed thru the forward

if he cautions the defender, then the critics have no leg to stand on, but he didn't.

Starting at 8:45. That should have been a penalty. But not only that, the referee clapped his hands like an asshole... you don't make fun of players, even if you think they "flopped" or "dive". This man needs to raise his standards.

Steven Ricardo haha he wasn’t clapping, he was using that symbol to signify “collision”. “Penalty” has a different symbol: two hands crossed over the head (as can be seen just prior to the kick that led to Medina’s goal
