What has worked best for me improving my Apex game is getting a few titanfall 2 matches in before I do any apex. High speed action that titanfall provides helps with my aim my positioning overall movement and handling of weapons. And since Apex is a slower than Titanfall it actually helps a lot with getting used to fast paced combat and on the fly thinking.

My experience is that i progressed the most by just engaging the enemy without to much overthinking at first. Find your weapon combination of choice and get battle experience with it. And to make sure to benefit from your Legends skills as much as possible. I am playing Apex for three months now. The first season i had a average of 200 damage and 0 to 1 kill per game, barely using the Legends skills because i was playing nervous and avoiding enemy contact searching for the ultimate armor and weapon lol. The second season i had a average of 500 damage and 2 to 3 kills, engaging the enemy on sight unless outnumbered or in a disadvantage and from time to time still forget to use the skills mid-battle . This season i average at 1000 damage and 3 to 5 kills, killing full squads by myself sometimes, using the Legend skills with strategy and staying calm during battles improving my aim some much more. I can cleary feel and see the progress just by playing the game for like 2 hours daily and of course by watching Raynday Gaming!

Firing range is great for testing. What worked for me the best is a simple change in play style. If you're someone whos afraid of engagements and losing, youd find yourself playing at a very low level. Thats what I am before, i tend to drop in areas where theres not a lot of people or tend to run away from people i see from afar. But after dropping in to mirage party thing a few times (i actually forgot the name lol) i started seeing a change in my playstyle being from some sort of a shy newbie to being really aggressive, fast phase always 4+ kills/1k++ damage per game player and it helped me alot because the more you get in to fights the more you master movements, aiming and that game sense and you start to actually play smart. Thats long 😀 but i encourage everyone to try that out!

There is a simple way to practice with bots if you want, choose pathfinder and launch a firing range session, make sure your inventory is empty and you have no gun, from where you begin, exit the cave, go to the third cave on your left, grapple on the metallic ledge above, line your character in the exact middle of the platform, crouch, look down, go to legends selection screen, choose another legend. You should hear a mechanical sound meaning the operation was successful. From now on, the 3 bots are gonna be roaming the map, chasing and shooting you. There is a very good drill that helps A LOT, jump in a firing range session with a friend, activate friendly fire from the settings (only available in firing range), dual your friend and meanwhile those bots are gonna act like a triple party. It's gonna help your aiming, your tracing, your movement, your reaction time, you'll learn to use cover and highground (if you don't hide those bots are gonna shred you) and the most important, you're gonna practice staying calm when a third party hits you. I'll share my own personal rules of engagement, before taking a fight or simply shooting at an enemy in game, 1: think THC; where are my teammates? do I have the highground? is there a piece of cover nearby? If those 3 conditions are met, ping your enemy and start shooting. Highground is not a necessity but it's gonna help A LOT to dodge incoming fire by simply crouching. Keep in mind that you should NEVER engage an enemy that has the highground on you, NEVER. 2: Never rush alone. 3: Stay close to your teammates. 4: After taking out a team and BEFORE reviving your mates, fully heal and have your downed teammates get behind cover, ideally in a building, because some other teams ARE on their way to third party you. 5. Don't fight in open field... 6. Outplay your enemies, example, if you're inside a building and you know you're getting pushed, hide behind the door or in a corner out of sight and WAIT, they're gonna run in the building and there is a good chance they don't see you crouching behind the door allowing you to get 50 damages on the enemy for free before the actual fight. Another example, if you're runnind alone and come face to face with 1 or more enemy, run towards highground or towards a piece of cover and when the enemy lose line of sight on you, crouch and hide in ambush, let the enemy run past you and shoot him/her from behind! 7. Adjust your position depending on the role of your legend, example, if you're lifeline playing with a wraith and a revenant, first one to engage is wraith, then revenant, then you, don't be the first one enemies see, this is not your role as a medic, a quickly downed lifeline is USELESS. Let me explain this a little bit more, wraith goes first because she can phase out after taking damage, revenant goes second because when enemies start shooting at wraith, revenant is gonna see where the bullets are coming from allowing him to silence effectively and reposition with wraith to combo portal/totem. Lifeline is always just a bit behind to quickly revive if somebody goes down. Another example, bloodhound with bangalore and caustic, in this team composition bloodhound and bangalore goes side by side, if blood scans an enemy, bang use a smoke on them and a smoke to cover the approach, caustic follow closely to trap your rear in case you get hit by a third party or to setup defense in a nearby building in case things goes south. 8. Focus one enemy at a time if possible, if you see a full team in the open and your random teammate is shooting at pathfinder, don't try to kill the octane... focus the pathfinder! 9. Try to stay close to the edge of the zone and the reason is simple, most of the time, particularly on zone 3 and above, it protects your rear and your flanks. Another thing linked with that tip, if you're on zone 1 or 2, use the zone to flank a team, hide your approach, or even reposition in a different area. Running in a low damaging zone for 1:30 is FAR BETTER (if you have healing of course...) than getting out of the zone to come face to face with a team ambushing you from the safety of their high ground! 10. Don't thirst too quickly... use your downed enemy or their lootbox as bait, an other member of the enemy's team is gonna try to revive or get the banner 9 times out of 10. In the same optic, don't revive too quickly neither; you can crouch for cover behind your friend who activates his knockdown shield, especially a blue or better, they can take a HUGE amount of punishment before breaking AND it's easy to get the jump on your enemy if your crouching closely to a downed player because they won't see you easily. Landing the first 4-5 bullets on an enemy is often just what it takes to get the win. That's all for me folks, I hope these tips helped someone. ✌

For the new people Bloodhound His ultimate is he can move faster then most legends but it’s really loud. Also (not his ultimate) Every 30 seconds he can scan an area to see traps, and other teams. It also tells you how many there are! Lifeline Her ultimate may take a long time but she can place down a lifeline package! She also can place a health drone down that heals whoever is around it even oposite teams so be careful! Waston She can put this thing down that heals shield, helps with booms and stuff! (Still learning about it) waston has a trap where she can block doors with lasers but others can shoot it to disable it! Costdic (idk how to spell it) He can place traps where gas comes out if other teams are near it! It will do damage! He also can throw gas bombs that takes a while to get ready! That’s only a few legends! Hopes this helps a little bit new players

One thing that I haven't been doing that you mentioned is moving around more in gun fights. The funny thing is I used to be like a rank 48 in lone wolf on Halo 3 (which obviously would require hella evasive maneuvers to get there) but I never added that same type of play to other FPS. I need to dust off those old Halo skills and add them to Apex and COD. Plus the sliding and ducking.

You only want to use flick shooting to alternate between targets. It makes it easier to alternate. Also, flick shooting is difficult with a standard console controller so I would track one target at a time. One more thing. If you find a good shield that all your squad already has, (say a purple shield,) drop your current shield, pick up the other one, throw an arc Star on the ground, and sit on top of it. It’ll take away all the shield. Then just pick up your normal shield and camp the other one.

Dunno if it got mentioned yet but the stocks do BOTH. They reduce weapon sway while aiming down sights. This is noticeable with high magnification scopes, but usually is still that minimal and in a firefight you're constantly adjusting anyways that it really does not matter all that much.

I have some tips too. Use peacekeeper , r99 and wingman. These are pretty easy to use but the wingman takes a bit more skill.Bonus tip for wingman:ALWAYS use the hcog 1x not a 2x not a holo sight and not even a digital threat only use 1x hcog on wingman. Another tip: If you have a good pre-made squad that looks forward in winning then use these legends: Pathfinder,Wattson,Wraith. Pathfinder is for getting high ground and knowing the end circle location.Wattson is for fencing the ever living crap out of that highground and wraith is the best offense legend.Extra tip: DONT PLAY WITH RANDOMS. Btw Raynday is awesome.

in kovaaks aim trainer there are some Apex specific train scenerarios to train wingman against fast strafing dots, also there is an actual 1v3 simulator with the apex loadout. I've started playing on pc 6 weeks ago and had to relearn all the mechanics (played on xb1 before since it came out). I've spend like 13 hours on kovaaks aim trainer, ~5 hours on shooting range for flicking, bhopping and wall jumping and raised my k/d from 1.20 to 1.48 today within the last 2 weeks. movement, game sense and aiming were my own set goals which i trained one by one + playing tons of 1v1s on shooting range and ofc casuals to become more aware, lowering my sensivity from 4.5 to 2.5 (800dpi) also had a great impact after 1 week of missing everything

Rayn you are one of only two gamers I'm subscribed to, the other being that1miningguy for his work in finding what might be coming next to Apex Legends. Your attitude, and presentation are perfect for me for what is happening in the now and for tips, stories, and in depth explanations of the finer points of Apex Legends. I play almost every day and I highly value the information you give us about our favorite battle royale. And the firing range is a phenomenal improvement, and I agree could include even more features. I attempted to email Respawn a few months ago asking for Training Mode to be upgraded into what is now the Firing Range. Anyway, thank you, and have a blessed day.

Buy some kontrol freaks and practice with those, you should start to see your aim getting better and your k/d rising, I bought some and was at 1.40 for the longest in season 3, I put them on now I’m almost at 2 (1.86) in only a couple of weeks, those things are nice you should check them out.

If you feel your not improving and/or not having fun you might want to take a break from Apex.( Probably a week or two, I just quit Apex for a few months) Not sure if this is because I took a break but in S2 I had a 0.70-0.9 KD. I took a break for a few months. I came back in about November. As of December I almost have a 2.00 kd (yes I do get bad teammates from sbmm) I also got 2000 dmg for the first time.

Firing range would be cool with 1. All legends 2. Infinite power 3.moving dummies 4.dummies that are down to practice finishers Dummies that fire if you move into their “TRIGGER ZONE” which means this zone you enter and they shoot you

It's gonna help your aiming, your tracing, your movement, your reaction time and the most important, you're gonna practice staying calm when a third party hits you.

I know this sounds lame ...but apex is a bit hard for me bc I don't much about guns in general. Back in the days it didnt matter. But in this game, knowing the difference between a R302 and R99 is important. The stocks and attachments are a whole nuther story! I had NO idea what a stock did..I'm the person that ran across an attachment..and if my gun said it needed it, I just picked it. But I didn't really know what it was for. The descriptions help a bit, but I needed my hand held a bit when it comes to firearms and attachment. Now that I'm passed that, my next problem is movement. My sensitivity is on high and everything, I hip shot now so I don't why I feel like I'm so slow in the middle of combat compared to other gamers Edit: after watching more of the video..maybe my problem lie in my sensitivity 🤔 I copied the numbers of how my bf plays on Xbox since he's always getting championships..meanwhile..I'm right next to him on my PS4 catching L's. Maybe I just can't play high speed like he can bc I plays with a squad. I don't..

I had no idea stocks allow you to switch faster. Thanks for that info. Also, thanks for giving the L-star some love. I picked it up in one of my ranked games and killed a squad by myself with it. The DPS is NUTS! It's a lot better than people give it credit.
