I am white - brought up in a black church my grandmother used to attend. There was nothing like it - there was energy and spirit like you would not believe. And we had church for hours at a time. Impossible to fall asleep in those church services!

I grew up in an all white COC, and while it was amazing and taught the truth nothing compared to the black COC I’d visit. I’d go just for the soul, the singing and the spirit is jumping. It’s amazing-truly God’s people.

We sang this song a few weeks ago. First time I've ever heard it lead at my congregation and I've been attending there for decades and the guy who lead it at our monthly singing isn't one of the usual song leaders. It was beautiful to hear it. More songs like this need to be lead. Unfortunately where I attend, it seems people have their usual set lists and don't deviate much despite having a 900+ song book. I'm glad this channel showcases a variety of hymns that so often get overlooked.
