Hello, thanks for sharing all this information! Incredible sound!! How does this engine comparison to the UMS 5-75, these two seem to be very close to each other in build, power wise also!? Kind regards, Donald

The machining quality by far is superior on the Sauron engines compared to UMS

Hey Morris this doesn’t pertain to the motor that you are running right now but I have a FG 33 which I replace the timing ring with your timing ring and I install the engine in a phoenix 20cc Corsair with a 17+8 prop the engine runs fine but I can only get 7500 RPM out of it,the plane weighs 15 lb and will only fly scale and the cylinder temps are uneven...do you think if I put your modified intake manifold on it would I get more RPM? Because rite now I am very unsatisfied with this engine for the money that I payed for it because it is very under power...I installed a 17+10 and could only get 7100 RPM...any suggestions would help.

Hi Charlie, I also fly the Phoenix Corsair with a FG-33 R3 and a 17x8 prop. On the ground I get 8000-8200rpm. Flying the rpms are 8500-9500. At the moment I use an Aerostar 17x8 because of the looks. Running in was with a Menz 17x8 (as adviced). Did some testing with a topped off 18x8 to 17x8, but with that one the rpms stayed to low. I have been very careful with the initial running (as per the manual - verrrry rich running for an houw or so) and the setup is still rich (sometimes it has a hard time getting the third cilinder to join the party after warm-up - guess I have to lean the mixture a teeny bit). Temps are reasonably even. Love the engine. Running Aspen with Klotz KL200 1:15.
