it is a different time, and styles change. I actually like that dark heavy wood all painted, to me, it looks better. I like the black railings, the floor, not so much. Candy's was so 80's / 90's because that's the time it was, today, while nice, it is considered outdated.

Including property taxes which is like 1.5% of the property value ($2.5m), it's probably another $100k a month so about another $1m or so for upkeep, fixing shit, gardening, bills, staff salaries. Conservatively, if you don't have a mortgage for this and it's paid for with cash which I am sure it will have to be sold for cash only, you'd spend $4,000,000 conservatively to own and maintain this house.

When she renovated it after buying it from Candy Spelling, the new owner took out a lot of the luxurious pieces from the home (like the fireplaces!) check out the previous videos and tv shows. Much more my speed in terms of decor (although very overdone)

I guess I just don't get why anyone would need or even want this much space to live in. And the cost of keeping the place going would keep me up at night. Even if I had the money it would seem like throwing money out the window. Even if it is real estate, which is usually a good investment, this is the kind of property you could really lose money on. Not just anyone would or could buy it and it's size alone would cost a fortune to update, which most people seem to want to do. When you over build in a place like Holmby Hills, it's almost an eyesore. Most won't get what I am saying but no, just not impressed with this place as far as being a home. I am just so far removed from that kind of lifestyle. Places like this make me feel isolated and empty. Many of the stars homes make me feel that way.

The former Spelling house, this is where TV mogul Aaron Spelling died. His wife, Candy explained that the house is so big because she didn't understand blueprints and kept enlarging the rooms on paper, not realizing how big they would be in reality (you should take that with a grain of salt). Their train-wreck of a reality-TV daughter, Tori Spelling was raised here. It was purchased by the daughter of a British billionaire, Petra Ecclestone, who's responsible for the hideous interiors seen in this video. Even she must not have liked the results, because she only kept it 3 years before putting on the market again. It was finally purchased by an anonymous buyer in 2017. Let's hope they gutted and remodeled it.
