Great teaching video Myriam. First of all, what to do and NOT do with mixing your resin and then letting it go too long. That is something people new to resin need to know. Second valuable lesson here is not giving up on yourself and continuing the project even if you don't like it. Because it is ALWAYS a learning process for every one of us! I don't hate this one at all. You did come out with something pretty to look at. I would use it for a trivet under a vase of flowers. I think it would be a lovely accent piece for that. My suggestion would be what has jumped out at me for the last 3 resin projects-----too many colors used!! It is only my opinion so please people, I'm not being critical here, just using my own sense of color and design. I adore you Myriam and will continue to learn and grow from your videos. Thank you for caring what we think too.

Hey, Myriam! I'm going to give resin a go again. I used your discount code at Little Windows (thank you!) My dog passed away a few weeks ago and I want to do something special with some of his ashes. Have you tried doing ashes in resin? Any tips?

Hi Renee. I am so sorry to hear about your fur baby. It is never easy to lose a loved pet. To answer you question, yes I have tried ashes in resin. It’s very similar to adding mica to resin. It’s best add the ashes to a tiny bit of resin first and work them in well and then add THAT mix to a larger quantity if you want the ashes dispersed throughout. Trying to add the ashes to a large quantity of resin first will make it challenging to avoid clumps and difficult to get an even mix. I’m not sure what your plan is, but ideas can be adding the ashes to sand for a beach like scene, or to mica for a nebula/space type scene. I hope that helps a tiny bit. 😊💕

Dear Myriam! It’s lovely! And you always make me laugh. Have you tried a free form resin piece yet? I would absolutely love to see you do a water splash bowl. I have seen a few artists do them on You Tube but your tutorials are so complete and educational that I have been hoping you would do it. The timing to create the drips that make the splash seems to be mostly luck. I think with your experience with resin and your clear tutorials, I would have the courage to try it myself.

When I have a fail like that (and I regularly do,) I try to rescue it by doing a top coat with more colours. Sometimes I get a pretty piece that has depth. Sometimes I get a bigger mess!
