Sorry about the film, brother. The band as well as the film stands on its own, without the awards, but would be nice for yall.✌️ Great band! Patty is always great. Good job, your bass is always so on target...all the right notes in the right places. Amazing. Thanks always for sharing your rich music history. And the variety is refreshing, and I know has kept you fresh. 😎

Just a killer lineup of musicians here and the songs and Patty deserve that. To know the work was done live puts a smile on my face. Sorry news about the documentary, feel bad for Denny and everyone else involved. It was worthy. Didn't B B King buy an extra seat when flying for Lucille? Love and Thanks ❤👍❤👍😮

Good early morning, Lee!! ❤🥰 Oh man, this makes me so very sad and disappointed, and yes, I can't believe a lot of things these days either. That documentary was so well done......no one knows anything good when they see it these days. But, on a positive note, you know the people who truly know it's an amazing documentary and film. 🎥 🎞 🎬 🥰🎶🎸🎵🥁 So sorry I'm just catching up on things. Things have been a bit hectic for me lately, things breaking, like my car, kitchen table, plumbing, and now my refrigerator is dead. 😂 So, I'm waiting for a new refrigerator to arrive on Monday. 😵‍💫😂 One thing after another. Great tunes, Lee!! Patty's voice is incredible! Thanks so much for sharing! 🥰🎸🎵🎙🤗 I'm can't wait for our next Clubhouse hang!! It is truly the best time of the week, being with you and all of the Clubhouse members!! See you then!! I love you bunches and bunches!! Hi Maureen and the Sklarville hounds!! 🥰🐶💙🩵❤️🩷

My sister introduced me to the music of Patty around 1990. I was smitten by the purity of her voice and the great songs she chose. Some years later my sister died of cancer. The hearse was a four black horse drawn coach with all black tackling. I insisted on playing my sisters favourite Patty Loveless song 'Someday I Will Lead the Parade. I still love the memory of my sister and the voice of Patty.

Being curious, I just checked out the five documentaries that were nominated this year for the Oscar. It readily became apparent why The Immediate Family was not nominated:1) It is about Americans and takes place in America. But mainly2) It’s a feel-good film and makes you happy. The nominated films are all foreign ( two from Africa, one about Ukraine, one Chilean…can’t recall 5th) and four are about excruciatingly difficult and tragic circumstances. So a feel-good story of great American musicians didn’t stand a chance. 😔

An award will never amplify nor deny the quality and the sheer quantity of the work in the music business you all did. Nonetheless recognition is always welcomed and inspiring. Thanks for sharing Patty Loveless today, I knew the name but never really listened to her. As I did I felt that she has a Linda Ronstadt quality about here voice…but you would know better than us all because you worked with both of them…one can only dream of playing behind voices such as these women, what a blessing it must have been for you. Thanks again Leland for sharing with us all!

I worked one of her shows many years ago in Mansfield, Oh and it was one of the best mixed shows I ever heard. Told her after the show her FOH guy needs a raise. She was so kind, and gave the entire crew here autographed photos. I also worked a show with Vince Gill, and he too was so nice. I say this because a few acts weren't so nice. He was gassed after the show, but still had a short meet and greet with a few fans that brought him some gifts. I remember him telling me the next day he was going to Columbus to play golf with his dad. And of course I've seen you and Russ several times with different acts. As I've always heard, It don't cost anything to be nice. Keep on keeping on Leland.

I'm a Patty super fan. "Blame It On Your Heart" has the greatest country guitar solo of all time. When I think of her music, she's always had the best pickers, especially the guitar players. Jeff King, Tom Britt (check this guy out if you haven't! I'm a huge fan), Jedd Hughes, Guthrie Trapp, etc. "Timber" is one I go to when I need to warm up since it's such a weirdo guitar solo. It's easier on a b-bender guitar and with finger picks. I will sell everything I own to play guitar for her. Sorry about the documentary not making the cut. It will always be great to me.

I always wondered who sang “Timber I’m Falling in Love”, ever since it was included as source music in A Few Good Men. A country rock band I only played with for 2 months in Indianapolis included the music of Patty Loveless in their repertoire, but that (sadly) wasn’t one of the songs. I met Mark O’Connor in 2015, about 5 years after I arrived in New York. I was in Washington Square Park on the first Sunday in October, jamming with one of the better guitar players I’ve ever met in person named Scott Samuels (who had some flattering words about my own playing), and there was Mark on a nearby bench. I didn’t get to hear him play his violin, but I proudly passed him the acoustic guitar I was playing then, a Guild D40 (which I have since replaced with a different Guild, a DCE1), when he asked to borrow one for a couple of songs. I get the impression, though Mark identifies as a fiddler, that he is the Paul McCartney type who can play every instrument you hand him equally well.

@PedroKing99 OK Pedro I understand you are upset and so am I. What you must understand is Kamala Harris had 107days to campaign. I think she accomplished a great deal. Raising more funds in a short span of time than any previous campaign in our country's history. Harris is highly intelligent and competent. Could she have made better tv spots focusing on herself mostly and basically not responding to or even mentioning Trump in her ads? Trying not to distance herself from Joe Biden who has had a very successful administration. More new jobs created ( at least 16 million ) that's a fact than any previous administration. The problem was the right wing media machine which spewed so much misinformation and falsehoods that people chose to believe that and not the truth. Say a lie often enough and some will believe it. One final thought Pedro is this and this really passes me off , more than 80,000,000 registered voters chose not to vote at all in 2024. That's more than voted for either Trump or Harris. Think on that for a while Pedro.

Condolences on the Grammy nomination situation. 🤔Saw them covering the topic on the news and I think it's possible that there was a problem with the bunch of you not wearing g-strings and knowing how to use a stripper pole.😳😳. Of course, it could also have something to do with the absolute deluge of documentaries about famous musicians right now. But it's still a great film and a great contribution to young musicians who are going to support people like Bruce Springsteen rather than be him (as well as music fans like us), so hopefully there continue to be screenings and promotions. "Clubhouse curious"? Again, hoping nobody is expecting 👙🩲. 😳😳

Argh! I have to amend my own comment (but not the parts that amused me). It was a LOT of work, but I finally managed to find what I take to be the category in question. I have been seeing blurbs on the Google feed all year about docs being made about the top headliners in the industry. And that's not what I saw in the noms (though there were a number of very well known names there). I don't know how many entries they limit a category to, but I think it's kind of surprising that they did not include "TIF."
