Have been doin karate since I was 6. Lifestyle that I can't give up. My sensei once told me not to get involved in a fight again at school when I was 14. He told me that our hands are like weapons and we train because karate is art of being weapon to protect our beloved ones and not to destroy someone's face for simple reasons. Since that, have been avoiding fights for a long time. Sometimes soft guys think they can beat me up, and I apologize and leave them believe in what they think. Thanks for making our willpower so strong and teaching us to control our anger, Sensei! Ous!

I used to never agree when people said that karate was a sport. but nowadays I can see that karate was really an art just at its begining in okinawa. At the time it's taken by japanese civilization, they changed it adding moviments based on kendo, distance in combat, geting in with an atack , more than with the eficiency of self defence stuff like grab techniques or fingers. Now the result we can se is that most karate was brought around the worold by masters who got a kinda opened mind, consequently, there are at the minimum two versions of karate. One is the so-called traditional that most times acts based on a certain prejudice if you are not from okinawa/japan, and the other version that promotes the "for everybody sport karate" version. I got some friends living in japan and associated to traditional institutes who got really depressed by the way they were treated just because they are "gaijin". So I concluded: why would one adore a culture whose the creators act based on prejudice? I mean, the most start adopting the "sport karate" like a way to self expression, more than way that "belong not for you if you're not japanese". That is also applied to the creation of TKD, Kickboxing and Bjj. The responsables for sport karate are trying to preserve something more than create another one with different names to be sold. but it's just an opinion, I was one who once adore the traditional as same as most here at the comments.

You are a fucktard. Kyokoshin is not traditional ANYTHING. learn your history. Founded by oyama from his root style-goju. He excelled at the go but his ju was nonexistant. Also exiled to northen japan because he was to brutal. Even shotokan, wich is mostly hard and a piwer karate, has its soft side.

What abs? There's a hollow where the abdominal muscles usually show. He's got neat pecs though.

Я раньше не понимал зачем каратэ танец(ката). Сейчас я подхожу к мысли что ката это что то похожее на молитву, молитва произносимая телом

The purpose of karate is to understand that you should always try to not use violence you train yourself into a weapon so that every strike is a kill you learn how to be your best peaceful version fighting is only allowed when your life is in danger and I really regret quiting karate now omg
