I 100% agree with you. I haven't hear this song since i was a little kid playing this game. When I just listened to it, it automatically gave me goosebumps as I was sent back in time when things were easier. I felt like I cried inside for my baby self an the simpler times. Im 38 now an feel as tho this song describes the story of understanding life, Peace & losing it all in one. May you find peace an continue to hold on to it.

When you replay a game, you lose that feeling you get when you're playing it for the first time and everything is new. MGS not only keeps that feeling but amplifies it. That's why I haven't replayed Guns of the Patriots, Snake was part of my childhood and his outcome, although beautiful, corrodes the soul, he deserves to be happy Only Kojima can make us cry with characters and their memes!

@valhallaLord the first 2 games were already soft rebooted into MGS1 back in the day. Even though the plot of both MSX games are pre-Shadow Moses (as hinted in the "Previous Operations" of the PSX original game), PSX MGS already feature plenty of elements of both games previous games. For instance, infiltrating the enemy base by swimming (MG2) the Tank and the Hind D battles (MG1), the runaway sequence in a staircase inside of a tower (MG2), the runaway sequence in the end with the girl and being saved of certain death in the nick of time (MG2), the fight with "Big Boss" in the end (even tough Liquid is a clone and not the original BB) (MG1 & MG2), fight against Gray Fox (MG2), fight against an armoured ninja that later reveals to be an old ally (MG2), the revelation that one of your allies is, actually, an enemy (Big Boss in MG1 and Dr. Petrovic Madnar in MG2)... It's also important to remember that Big Boss's and Solid Snake's relationship was just and ordinary villain x hero type of thing in the first two games. Both the "Father x Son" and "one being the genetic modified clone of the other" thing came later when Kojima decided to soft reboot Metal Gear into Metal Gear Solid and bring the story to a whole new level of plotwist (and even outrageous nonsense sometimes).
