A ported 18 would have done better but it still won't match a ported boss up top the boss will hold the power much better. Peaks might be similar but the curve is much better with the boss and a ported cj is even better than that. Lots of people think the 18 is just as good or even better than a boss but they really aren't and they never have been. People focus on peak too much but the curve is what you gotta look at. Holding the power that much better past 7000 is huge.

What generation F150 motor is it? Seems like the little compression deficit between the Mustang and the F150 Coyote doesn't have a very big effect on power. I wonder if the Mustang / F150 difference would be larger on Ethanol.

3 things that must be done to the Coyote or it will break. 1 crank support pulley 2 oil pump gears 3 locked cam phaser Make sure you lock the exhaust cam phaser or it will keep retarding timing even though you adjusted the ecu. The timing chain stretch can cause pistons to hit valves, I have seen it several times.😬

My car on gen3 10r80 stock motor no oil pump gears just long tube and JLT cold air and lund tune and it rips and you dont need oil pump gears unless your boosted or have hella vibration from knock or your rev ing to 8k rpm and living there.
