Top video mate, covered everything! I've had the same issue with the handle screw on all 4 of my previous and current 216 mowers. Lost a few, now I check it regularly and I can normally feel it in the handle when it comes loose. I found a bit of blu tack around the thread helps but doesn't lock it on as lock tight would, which you obviously don't want. Also had a few handles do the same and not look straight when you view it from the mowing position, not sure what that's about! Wheels turn into slicks real quick. Thanks for taking the time to put this out 👍🏻 Cracking job mate.

Loosen handles and the mower can stand up straight on its back wheels. Then easy to remove cutting disc (2bolts) to change blades.

Great tip mate. I'm starting to get the front wheel axles wearing the deck just inside the wheels. I know to replace the little plastic bushes on them, but you can only tip one side. That is with the oil sump down. Folding the handlebars will definitely help access the other side.
@bradpatti9994 ай бұрын
Good video mate. I had the same issue with the handlebar knobs coming loose. Lost the nut in people's yard 3 times. I put a spring washer and nyloc nut on either side and never had any problem since. Never have a reason to fold or lower handlebars while mowing. If I ever need to fold them for maintenance or storage, I'll just undo the 2 nuts with my rattle gun or ratchet.

Good review. I have the same problem with the screws, I also find they’re not really secure even when I’ve tightened them and if the terrain is uneven it’ll bounce and cause scalping which can be a pain. Have you experienced similar or know how to fix it?

It shouldn't even be up to workers either all bosses should be mainting shit so it happens less.. Dude it's written in the law that they have to keep up safety maintenance not workers... they just chuck it on the workers. I would love to see the boss fight that statement with health and safety they'd laugh him out the office it's all their responsibility

@keensta789 When I bought it one of my mates told me to do that but at the mower shop the workshop manager advised against it so I never did. I hardly use mine and it already needs the gearbox replaced. All the guys I know who own them have gone through 3-4 gearboxes. I wish I never bought it.

coming from hrx217 to this,the handle is too low for tall operator and unadjustble.the rear wheels worn out way too fast.clutch cable needs adjustment often or it wont drive properly. and one thing i dont understand why honda not upgrade its "commercial" grade engine gxv160 for more than 10years meanwhile upgraded their domastic line to more powerful gcv 190 and 200.

@@merdenoms74 hmm,i like the hrx handle,hydrolic gearbox,auto choke,weight and plastic body But i hate the 4wheel height adjustment and the fact hrx cant cut low..,the hru can cut extremly low.

@@LeonMTan yes I agree. With regards to the cutting height, I’ve packed my blades with a thick washer to bring them down a couple of mm. It’s enough to make a difference.

Maybe the older engine is more durable 🤷♂️
@macdonaldjohnstonfan5 ай бұрын
The GXV160 has plenty of power. It’s a far more durable design than the gcv170/200, the two models do not compare. Incase you didn’t realise either this is an Australian only model so has some features the hrc216 doesn’t have and is also a totally different deck design.
