Now considering the terminology and most of the first given measurements are consistent with English cultural norms (like what exactly is a "rasher"), despite the forgivable ignorance of the original poster's knowledge of proper measuremental nomenclature, his point still stands as correct. So perhaps we have proven my theory that ignorance does exist in your country. I would also hold your comment also points to the presence of a certain level of arrogance as well. Soooooo......maybe we shouldn't point fingers?
