18 ~ Then & Now ~ Which Gene Marshall doll was chosen for our anniversary gift ??? A love story too.

Very personal sharing! Pt 1 The whole story of our wedding anniversary, which this adult doll collector gifts are all about, Gene Marshall by Mel Odum and Integrity Toys with Jason Wu. Huge apologies for some parts of the sound in here. Thinking I was trying to be creative and things didn't work quite right. Had no idea the microphone would pick up what it did, like the truck and make us sound so low from a few feet away.
I am embarrassed to say this is from 2018!!! Our 2019 celebration consisted of a fabulous camp weekend out in the woods and I do believe we got a together gift of an added solar panel for the camper rig! Oh how time changes... and hobbies are added.
Part 2 will be a dedicated review of this beauty!

I became a single mom shortly after my son turned 4. Having been married to his dad over a decade, trying to enter the dating world was horrifying & such a disaster I have gladly given it up. I hear it all the time from friends. But hearing your family's story is so beautiful, I had to listen a few times. Every part of it is wonderful, the wedding itself, how you celebrate the anniversaries, but what really stood out...how you aren't just a couple, you are a FAMILY from the beginning. I don't think there are many people with this mentality today & marriages really suffer because of it. I know this was filmed a while ago, but I think I heard your anniversary was in August...wishing you a very Happy belated Anniversary & may you continued to be blessed with many, many, many happy & beautiful years together. I love that doll collecting is a family thing. Couldn't help laughing @ Gracie's expressions & inputs, remind me so much of those of my 13 year old😂❤.

Hi! Not sure who this is? Have you changed your username? Thank you for the sweet words and remembering me!!! I miss it too. State of affairs right now so that we sold our house and moved… so the dollroom all got dismantled. Stored in our new garage right now, covered in plastic. Getting the home together with projects has left me no doll time. Alls I did was unbox a bunch to make room. We only have 3 bedrooms now and Alex got a dedicated room for his office. So! No space at all for the dollhouse. Yet!!! If things work out in the next few months… we may be building some space for me and my dolls and craft. 😊 We couldn’t say no to all the other awesome things of this new home we bought… knowing we’d or rather I’d have to wait for a craft & doll space. Worthy trade off!!

Awwww. Thanks for the kind words. It’s nice to know leaving the channel up is appreciated. YT and me got like oil and water over time. 😂 Every time I started to get some gumption to try again... boom... Something to discourage. I don’t even watch much these days as the ad breaks drive me nuts. 😂 Life has been a little chaotic as of late But rolling with the jumps and stumps as best we can. Greetings from Chicago. I’m a Barbie fan and I particularly enjoy the Barbie Happy Family line. I’ve always loved Barbies since I first played with them as a child in the 70’s. I decided to check KZbin out to see if there were any unboxing of Happy Family dolls and came across your video unboxing a Midge your mom got you. I enjoyed your video. That version of Midge is a pretty one. I think the Happy Family line was such a great line and wish they made more Playsets. I’m a Barbie thrifter and crafter in my spare time and love to create all things miniature for Barbie. I’m thinking about starting a KZbin channel chronicling my Barbie creations. My MH dollhouse is all packed in the garage presently until we can settle and I can reset it up. Still love dolls though!!! Hello Momm! So nice to hear from you. We have been doing good. Not so into the YT these days. Grace is almost 16 now, enjoying high school... when it’s in person. We are blessed and thankful that Alex has been able to work from home .... me... LOL often times I’ve just had to be quiet while one works and the other was schooling at home. One up one down or any combo meant nothing but being quiet for me. 😂 But we have found time for camping. That was fun.... and dolls there has been zero inspiration... I just have a good pile of sales built up over the last year to get through. YT is still a pain in my ass and thwarts me every time I think about it. 🤷‍♀️ How is life treating you and the kids?

I had to recently forfeit my doll soace over to my kids because our 2 oldest both turned 17 this past spring so weve been shifting things around to get them in their own rooms. All my stuff is in totes all over the house lol. Got 2 almost adults, one oooking at colleges, one looking into game development programs. One freshman, 2 middle schoolers, and one more year until my littlest little is in kindergarten!! Hows your kiddo doing? I got a couple of the "skullector" Monster high dolls recently and they both made me think of yous guys. I keep peeking on instagram but i cant find you anywhere, so I finally decided to try here. ❤️❤️❤️ Im glad you guys are doing well.

@@summerdawn1986 wow! Time flies. Yep, mine is 17 now. About to start senior year. She’s a good hearted kid. So proud of her. We moved out to rural desert. She stayed in the city for her school and her job! She’s been working almost two years now. Loves it! While she grew out of dolls for a time there… it’s been really sweet that now she has been spending her own hard earned money on those new MH dolls! So nice to reconnect with her that way. We had a laugh the other day… she asked Have you seen the new dolls?!?! I’m like nope… no social media so I don’t know nothing unless you tell me 😂 I got off Insta quite some time ago. It got to be too negative for me. Not to mention all the YT problems that drove me nuts and turned me off from that even more. We’ve been busy finally settling into our new place. It’s amazing! Except one thing… no extra bedroom for dolls. 😞 Alex’s new job is work from home so he needed the one for a real home office, deservedly of course. The dollhouse is all packed and plastic covered, setting in the garage. It’s our hope to save and someday purchase a mobile office or something like that we can put on the property for my eventual new doll room. There was just too many other perks to the property and house not to jump on it and worry about it the doll space later. So that stinks for now… but I am sure will be worth it.

@@SB4E.2 inthinknwe all grow out of things for a while and then our inner child reconnects. Maybe get a storage barn and turn it into a she shed! Ive thought about doing that, but then i couldnt hear if the kids were killing each other. I just have to sit tight until someone goes to college. 🤷‍♀️ My dad lives in rural desert and loves it. I couldnt do it myself. Im not a fan ofnthe city, but the convenience is nice.

@@summerdawn1986 Yeah! Something will work. But the budget changed and we don’t have the cash for it right now. With her at her dads now… after I finish painting the house I’m going to get a job to start saving that money for whatever works… a shed… a mobile office…even considered gutting a large toy hauler or something ?!?! Whatever it is, it needs insulation, good black out curtains and an air conditioner LOL Grace says she looks forward to rebuilding it with me when the time comes. That’s really neat! I love the idea. We’re not too far off in desolation. Just a small city off the highway. We got a couple handy little town stores… no streetlight. 😂 About 20 minutes highway drive to Walmart and a fuller city. So it ain’t too bad! Most important… we got a gorgeous forever home view… and a one acre property…. Space from close neighbors. Which was really important to us. And as I said about putting something on the property, there is room for something! 😊 So glad all your babies are doing good, growing up well and life seems to be treating you good too!!! That’s good news. 🤗 As for me… back to painting my baseboards. Almost done painting!!! It’s a slower go for me being passed 50- but I’m gettin’ er’ done! Just the laundry room to do after a break. Going camping this weekend. So stoked! We haven’t had our camper even out in over a year and a half with all the moving. It’s been crazy.
