I watched Mendenhall's press conference. He's very confident his boys can up-end our cougs! More fuel for our fire down in Albuquerque. If this doesn't get our defense fired up nothing will.

There is a reason why the Big 10 did not invite Washington St. Tune in to the game vs. New Mexico. This is a team who had not beaten a ranked opponent in over 20 seasons or even finished .500 in almost a decade in a lower tier conference. In other terms UNM is one of the big fish amongst bottom feeders. Wazzu defense looked worse than a lot of FCS schools and routinely allowed one of the worst college programs in America to casually march up and down the field, including for the game winning touchdown with little resistance. Anyone who excuses this loss needs their head examined. Wazzu was given a creampuff schedule and by no means deserved to be ranked. If they played the same schedule as last season they would probably have 4-5 wins. There needs to be accountability and it starts with coaching first. "Coug'ed it" is just a PC way of saying we are bush league, have lower tier players, poor coaches and cannot find ways to win football games. Bottom line. I would not invite this team to ANY power 5 conference, they belong in the MWC and probably would struggle to go .500 on the road. Based on last nights performance that might be pushing it. Every time this team plays I am anticipating a loss regardless of how pampered their schedule might be. Everyone affiliated with the Wazzu Football Program should be embarrassed and their competency not only questioned but scrutinized.

I couldn't have said it better myself. It's just CRAZY to me how many Coug fans were calling Dickert "The best coach in college football." Last season he had a very good roster. He starts the season at 4-0, and people start calling him the "best coach in college football", and he starts believing his own hype. He then proceeds to lose 7 of the last 8 games. This season, he, once again, starts at 4-0, including a great win over UW. Once again, Coug fans start calling him "The best coach in college football." He then gets DEMOLISHED by Boise State, then, as you've stated, they play their creampuff schedule, and they win four in a row, and, once again, delusional Coug fans start calling him, "The best coach in college football." and making RIDICULOUS comments such as, "The Big 10 made a big mistake leaving the Cougs out." and "We've got a chance to make the college football playoffs." TO ALL COUG FANS, ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN REALITY TO YOU... The Cougs are on a downward slide, and they're sliding FAST. Oregon State football has already imploded. The Cougs are next. They simply DO NOT have the money and the boosters backing to be a top-level college football team. And they never will. To succeed in college football today, a team has to be able to offer MANY million dollar-plus NIL deals, in order to attract the best recruits. And WSU and WSU alumni simply do not have that purchasing power, and they never will. The ONLY reason that Coug football has been somewhat successful this season is because they're still, somewhat, a Pac-12 caliber team. They've still got great facilities, and they've still got money from the settlement when all the other teams departed the Pac12. But, as time goes on, on thing is CERTAIN. WSU athletics will transform into being just another Mountain West Conference team. As WSU's facilities age, their cash dries up, and their expenses increase, WSU will find themselves between a rock and a hard place. Like I said, Oregon State is already there. They got there faster than even I expected. I truly believed that OSU would have been able to maintain a good team for, at least, a couple of years, but I was wrong. They slid down FAST, and it will only get worse as the years go by. WSU will either have to join the Mountain West, or they will have to try to build up the PAC-12 by...you guessed it, inviting Mountain West teams to join. Whatever the case, the quality of WSU and Oregon State athletics will regress significantly over the next 5 years. The landscape of college athletics has changed drastically in the last several years, and the Cougs have not been invited to the dance.

@user-sg8kq7ii3y ya, absolutely nothing either of you said is even remotely accurate. Neither of you speak for anyone inside the WSU fandom & both of you are horrible examples of college fandom. Glad that neither of you are Cougs so us actual Cougs can enjoy an incredible & special football team, one of the 25 best in the ENTIRE COUNTRY 👏👏👏👏 GO COUGS BABY, & let's go Coach Dickert!!!
