Hi. Is the speak with someone who cares section supposed to connect to paid counseling? I requested prayer and was then solicited by text by someone who stated they aren't affiliated with the ministry, yet would be happy to book a paid session. This was not what I was hoping for. I really do need help and prayer. I found the whole text exchange very confusing, as they seemed to also be confused why they were getting requests. I just need someone to speak and pray with me.

My husband was 19 years older than me and we had a very loving and happy marriage up until his death 28 years later. We made Jesus the center of our relationship and He blessed us in so many ways. I have read the Bible many times and I have yet to find that verse that says we can only love someone within 5 years of our age. My advice is don't consider any age difference when choosing a mate, marry someone who makes you laugh, you will have a happy life.

A significant age difference isn't a problem. As long as the two parties are adults, and mentally stable enough to understand what the vows mean. I say, thank God for who he's given you, and honor that union, because you're not only joining yourselves together, but you're joining yourselves with Christ. The person that God chooses for you, may surprise you, and even your family, but that dosen't make it wrong. My husband and I are 11 years apart. I'm 55, and he's 66. However, we met and married much later in life, and quite honestly, when folks find out about the age gap, they're generally surprised. I'm not quite sure if that means that I look older, or if it's that he looks younger. 😂 Either way, I wouldn't change it for anything. A God fearing man, or woman is getting harder, and harder to find. Blessings don't generally come in a pretty box, with a brightly covered bow. So, sometimes we don't recognize a blessing when we get it. Pray, pray, pray!! You will get your answer. ❤

I was married for 27 years, it was the question, by a man I thought I would marry, that asked, “what roll did you play in the demise of the marriage?” It was a revolutionary question, that I had no problem answering. I don’t think I could have acknowledged and accepted the question, let alone face the truth with my Savior Jesus. From it, if it be his will, I desire marriage again, with a well swept heart and mind, filled with God grace and mercy.

Age is a big issue for many people. But18 years diff is nothing. When you are just being you, and she is just being who she is and IN God, and everyting centres around God - Jesus Christ, THAT IS WHAT MATTERS. "If anyone is going to fix anything it was Christ." Amen. So true. And in Him we learn to rest. It is a delight to see and hear this dear husband and wife locked into Jesus Christ. It is so precious to see the grace of God in these two saints of the Most High God. May we ALL find Christ Jesus in our daily situation whether in singleness or in marriage.
@ianmcdonald864810 ай бұрын
Added: Myles Munroe (Late) said something like this: When you can live on you own and be content, then you are ready for marriage, becuse you are not putting expectations on the other to fix your lack or yor problems. DIVORCE? Oh yes there are legal reasons why you can divorce. But I want to say that for believers, marriage is about showing the love of God and the power of God in difficult or unbearable situations. The Grace of God is given to us so that we can overcome anything. If we can get our eyes on Jesus and off ourselves, if we will get our eyes off ourselves and onto Jesus, and dig deep into Him and His love, we will find Jesus to be the Saviour of marriages. Think on this, which is the greater miracle? ...to save a soul from hell, - forever?... or to save a marriage from disaster (in this temoporal scene)? Of c0ourse it is to save a soul from hell. So then the lesser difficulty is to save a marriage - and Jesus is the one who can do it for us. And by doing so we show the world how great our God is and why they should also trust in Him.

Yeah this marriage is strange. There is a reason why we look at this as odd. She could be his daughter. Just because we can, doesn't mean we should. There is something wrong when you're attracted to someone with this big of an age gap. We can go after someone that the Lord doesn't necessarily have for us. Doesn't mean he still won't bless it in the end because of his grace and mercy, but I don't agree with this age gap. When someone can be someone else's kid, I draw the line.

He seems younger than he is in spirit. I also realize my traumas play a part as well. Thank you both for ministering to me tonight.

Wow - thank you so much for sharing this. Yes, I would say that there can be unhealthy reasons to pursue younger or older spouses with larger margins. If you only want their looks or their money or their status or their resources then your heart is setting you up to fail. But, when you enjoy conversing, have shared interests, both have similar life goals, find each other attractive (gasp! it's ok to be attracted to someone that has youthful looks), and just overall "click" then you might have to hear a lot of hurtful or semi annoying things assumptions about your marriage BUT the daily life with that person greatly outweighs the random commentary of others. No matter who you end up with, I pray it is someone who loves the Lord, inspires you to lean into the Lord more and more, and that you have a blast with. God bless you! -Michelle & Shea

As a Christian woman who was always attracted to older man . I still struggle with this because I don’t know why if it stems from what I’ve been through in life . The goal is to find a partner of God . Not to ask ourselves first “ are they younger or (older ?.” If so we need to ask ourselves ? Why do I even care about their age ? Do we have a fetish ? So I don’t think it should be encouraged. But I believe their intention was to shed light on couples who have an age gap and where judged or ashamed that it’s okay if that’s who God sent you then Let it be ❤

The key is to be led of God and marry who HE sent, not be led by our flesh. I was married to a man 21 years older than me but it was NOT a Godly marriage. Yes, we were both “saved” but we were broken and he was unwilling to change or repent…married for 16 years, divorced since 2018 and HAPPILY with Jesus until HE should allow me to remarry. I could say so much…just be led of God in ANY relationship. That is my prayer🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
@ThePantryPodcast10 ай бұрын
When we sat down, we weren’t originally invited because of our age gap but because of how the Lord worked in our lives. It’s best not to take the testimonies of others as prescriptive for our lives, although some will and we can all take time to pray against that so people aren’t led astray. But, that is something a little more unique and attention grabbing about our story and that is probably why it was chosen as the title to maybe minister to that group in addition to anyone that wants to hear another story of the Lord working in the lives of others. Thank you for taking time to share! God bless you!

I find that a lot women who are attracted to older men have that attraction because they're seeking a father figure they never had or wish their father was. They just don't realize it. Just speaking from experience from friends I've had. Not saying this is the case for you. I think there is a reason we do the things we do. I personally don't agree with this large of an age gap. Not to mention, eventually he will most likely pass much sooner than her. I've been married for 5 years and the thought of not being with my husband kills me already.
@Batya-Grace10 ай бұрын
@@angelrebekah9153… You have no idea who would pass sooner. Certainly, if they both live to old age without any problems, he would probably pass first, but don’t you think they considered that already? She could also die sooner. She could have a car accident, or develop some disease.

God bless you! So often we learn to cope in the wrong ways as kids and then these toxic patterns haunt our adult life and the guilt when it happens can hurt so much and do more damage. The best thing we can do is openly confess our struggle to those closest to us and ask the Lord to give us the strength to humble ourselves and ask for forgiveness when we fall short. Then ask the Lord to start working on our heart to be able to divorce from our toxic coping mechanisms. He is faithfully working in us and I pray for you in your journey with this! - Michelle

Jimmy I was scrolling and was drawn to your post... praying for you brother. Here's my testimonial I was married 29 years and my husband suddenly died in 2019. 8 months later we went into lockdown, during this time I was miraculously saved by my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I gave him it all!! the grief the sins the tears the anger and he took it all... I was filled with the Holy Spirit and set free I was water baptised in 2022 aged 57. God has given me so much I'm greatful some days are difficult but I give it to him. Be encouraged... blessings Nicola

I respect their testimony, but to Delafe, I would be cautious regarding the title of the video. We cannot deny that there are groups of men who pursue relationships with younger women for the purposes of manipulation and control. On the other hand, there are groups of women (myself included) who may experience a compulsive attraction to older men due to their father issues. I worry that young viewers (teenagers/young adults) may feel overly-encouraged by this video title. Although age is just a number, we still need to ensure that our youth are aware of the safety issues surrounding age gap relationships (i.e., unknowingly engaging with a groomer; dating an older man to fill a parental void...)

I think they sound like a lovely couple but it another part of my mind sends red flag, may be due to having seen older men going for significantly younger sisters and brainwashing them to believe it was will of God too get married. Also I hope his ex wife found complete restoration and peace.

What do you call a marriage if the wife is older then the men? Also brainwashing? Who are you to judge about the "True"? The true knows himself and it is honest to itself! Only true have love for the true! It is not a lie but a reality of true! We can all make a excuse about everthing but that makes it not right to say that a excuse also the true is of christ! The excuse what you use is the excuse of this world.... ....father of lies! So what makes you better than christ? That you try to find a lie of.... the... father of lies! The devil! God is a righteousness God of love from him for this world John 3:16... There comes not love from the... ..father of lies.... ...he comes only as a thief... John 10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." ....And God (I am) comes with abundantly!

@@salemhanaghgamy105 I ask God for discernment and to help me understand. 1 cor 2:15 says a righteous man judges all things and the Bible also says to test the spirits see if they are or God. If God ordained them to get married more power to them. Ruth was 40 years younger than Boaz and God had a plan for them. However I don’t believe every older man that is interested in a significantly younger woman is God ordained and if it be my daughter God give me clear confirmation and peace cause he’s gonna have to pass the test.

That's the #1 thing for me. Did his ex-wife come to peace and move on? This story resonates with me because I was in an age gap marriage. Husband left, although I had been praying for him every single day until he finalized divorce. I found out things I suspected of his long-term hidden sins that still remained. He treated me very disrespectful through much of it and I had to endure without retaliation, although I wanted to. It was like the more I prayed and drew closer to God, the worse my ex-husband got. So I've wondered whoever he got with, if God has made it peaceful given my prayers for him and how he treated me towards the end....even now. He currently acts like I don't exist, and our marriage was nothing. So I wonder how truthfully he can give love to anyone having treated me the way he did...and does. I'm ok and God has done a tremendous work in my life, but there's still a sadness that he seemed to grow in hatred towards me.

@@sjg5994yes I thought about the ex wife, they do look blessed and that’s great but my hope is also that the ex is restored also and God gives her the desires He has placed in her heart, a divorce is painful and God never forgets a broken heart that needs to be healed.

Same. My husband and I are 18 1/2 years apart and I was 19 and he was 38. We met when I was at a conference with my great friends and they were 56 and 66. So he thought I was in my late 20s early 30s. And I thought he was in his late 20s early 30s. After 2 months of dating I kept wondering why he would talk about so much life experiences. Places he worked, bible college, university and it was a she'll shock for both of us. I'm 38 and he's 57. It's been 17 years now and going strong.

I can’t wait to hear this testimony. My husband and I are 13yrs apart and it was so hard to deal with comments the first few years of our marriage. Americans have a perverse idea of age gaps. Age gap is a connection between consenting ADULTS. Perversion of that is when underage children are involved or even a situation Iike Celine Dion. She married a man twice her age who met her as a child and watched her grow up.
@amyshaw44410 ай бұрын
Oof, that is very hard 😔 People definitely get weird about age gaps and it's just silly. It sucks because unfortunately a large age gap automatically means you won't have a lot of people's support
@ThePantryPodcast9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for taking time to comment. Yes, we've read some comments here that paint my husband and/or myself in a cruel light by conflating an age gap between two adults who met as adults with an actual attraction to children. However, it is also great practice at focusing on the Lord, His Word, who He says we are, and not giving much importance to the opinions of others that are not backed up by Scripture. I encourage you to cherish and celebrate the work of God in your marriage and cast off any sadness or loneliness the lack of support can cause. We love y'all and are praying for you! - Shea & Michelle

My bf and I have a 13.5 yr difference. Met at 28 and 42. It's an uphill battle with my boomer dad, but my friends and siblings are supportive. I used to say max 8-10 yrs, but he came along and that went out the window because of our connection. He is such a great man. How he loves God, how he cares for his family, and how hard working he is. I just know he is going to be a great husband and father. I would be grateful for however much time the Lord grants us. We already talked about me wiping his butt or if I unexpectedly become disabled and he'll have to wipe mine. We'll do it with love.🥰

Only 12 minutes in, but I truly admire this couple. It is key that they said they got to know each other and dated long enough to for both to heal and let God work on them both. I also met my husband while serving in church, but the difference is we rushed and it resulted in a lot of confusion and frustration because we both still needed a LOT of healing. I would say wait on God, even if you’re positive about who the person is, wait on Him for the WHEN. It makes a difference ♥️ thanks for sharing this.
