What a wonderful day out, that was so good of the railway yard to allow you to go a little behind the scenes, really interesting Sean, so nostalgic!

Your bread rolls look like they are part baked long life ones, that are vacuum sealed and are fine in the cupboard.

Be careful of the ingredients though, packed with a lot of salt and preservatives. From memory nearly 1g per roll…Not long life otherwise 😢

My husband was an engine driver/fireman and he would have been apoplectic at the black smoke coming from that engine. Oh how I remember the steam trains passing our house and me rushing out to wave to him when we were courting. Thank you for the memories Sean.🎄🎄

There is no Welsh Steam coal being mined anymore. The imported coal is not the same quality and it causes a lot of problems on preserved steam railways.

We live near the Bluebell Railway in Sussex which operates throughout the year. In the last year it has been visited by the Flying Scotsman and the A4 Pacific Sir Nigel Gresley. My husband and I- aged 82 and 75- play at being the Railway Children waving to the trains from the line side. The children and grandchildren often visit there too. I love hearing the steam trains from our garden.

Thank you for showing those steam trains, they are so nice to see they’re still in operation and although the engines are very utilitarian they are also charming. BTW I’m loving this vlogmas, your videos are the first thing I watch when I wake up (I do have my own life, I just like watching a bit of yours too!) I will miss my morning video every day when you go back to uploading 2/3 per week. My wife and I intend to come and have a walk on the mountain in spring and I would like to time it so we can pop into your homestead and say hello, so we look forward to meeting you and having a cuppa tea with you. 👍

What an interesting time you had today. Hubby would have loved it he use to be a shunter at Tinsley yard at Sheffield. It was his job to make sure the steel was secure and to get the trains ready. 😊. The bread you bake can stop in your cupboard or even your store under the stairs. It's just kept in the aisles in the supermarket. Mum use to make her own bread. She packed in making it in her 80's when her hands couldn't knead the bread . 😊

I am 68 years young, and I can remember going with my brother, as children, to the bridge above the railway in Pinner, Middlesex - where we lived at the time - and watching the steam train coming, going under the bridge, and emerging the other side with all the steam coming up to us. Wonderful sight, and noise. Long way to go to get your camera, but what a grand day out you had in the end! Blessings to you, from Jilly & Madge. xxx

One of my favourite things is to travel on the Dart Valley Railway. It goes from Paignton to Dartmouth. No need to book in advance, just pay like you would normally for the next train. Not cheep though.

As soon as I seen Keynsham I knew exactly where the steam train is as I have also been on that train There used to be a good garden center on the opposite site of the Avon train entrance My Son lived about 100 yards form the Avon Valley center I used to go there for a visit every couple of weeks. The broad brimed hat I wear on my allotment was bought there.

Hiya. I can answer this as this was discussed yesterday - as I always felt sad about those rows of steam locos sat in that field in Barry; I only visited Barry once when they were all there but I never forgot it. Yes, one at Bitton is from Barry, so u are correct in your thoughts (but I'm not sure which one). Hope that helps.
@brokenbritain9441Сағат бұрын
@DiSWRwow77 I see if I can dig some old photos out. Because I remember they had writing on the side reserved for and they said this one is sold. I even remember that the workman's carriages had cast iron wood burners inside. It was better than going to Barry Island.

A mixture of The Polar Express, A Hard Days Night or L'Arrivée d'un train en gare de La Ciotat, or Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat. I didn’t hide behind the sofa when the rain pulled up though… Thank you for takings along in your suitcase with you! Why do people on our modern day trains all barge past us to get onboard with their hot cups of coffee etc… as we try to get off at our stop..?!? More slow living and old fashioned patience would work better . Maybe I’m just Grumpy too… 😂 Shortest day today, then we’re on the up! Looking forward to see your videos on the second channel.

Well you did have a hectic start to the day Sean ! I see someone advised on the bread rolls staying out of the fridge but they will be ok for today. I see what you did about the train times.
