One year+ update - the armrest still holds strong and remains soft padded! It lives up to the initial quality and comfort provision while driving.

Update: after a week of usage, I have noticed that pen holders are very tight. A regular pen doesn't fit in it, however the cheaper pens which cost ₹5-6 easily fit.

@@sivasekhar2153 hello, I didn't bother much about that, as it just won't be flush being an aftermarket product. It made no difference to the angle and movements of the armrest

From mine rattling noise is coming... Have you faced a similar issue?

@@ashishroy1992 not an issue on mine. I recommend that you dismantle it and paste some foam tape on the contact surfaces. Re-install it then, and see if it sorts out.

@@lemedico actually it is coming from the hinge or lock of the storage area.. i'm still thinking how to correct it..

Dr Sir , its great DIY ....Congrats and Special Congrats as great job done though you are a Specialist Doctor by profession...just like an Engineer.............Now that 8 months are over since installation ,how do you find its usefulness and overall quality ?does it shake at base or quite sturdy !

Thanks for your appreciation. The armrest rides along, strong and sturdy! No squeaks or creaks. The only negative I have is that it isn't wide enough for mine and my passenger's elbow together. Room for just one.

Good job on the DIY. Frankly speaking, it makes no sense to put that cup holder back, since we can't use it anymore (unless it plays any part in adding strength while fitting the actual armrest).

@RajendraCan thanks! Honestly, it does seem to provide an anchor for the screws to hold onto more tightly. And it also creates more plastic waste in the landfills if I'd have thrown it away!

@lemedico Got it. Long ago, I planned to install an armrest for my Tiago, but, couldn't find this type of model (sleek, foldable with slide). It was all slide with boxy type then. Looks like this one is out of stock on the company website itself now :(. I'm searching for alternatives.

The car is faultless. The AMT gearbox leaves a lot of frustrating moments. It's too jerky and sluggish for my driving style

@@lemedico I guess that's the nature of the amts. I think the Tata ones run on mechanical actuators unlike the hyundai ones which run on electrical. But due to this ...chances are the mechaincial ones could be more reliable than the electrical ones.

5 months of usage, it's not sturdy one., Chirak chirak awaz aata hai har bar haat hilane se, haat hilane se sukh milna chahiye 😂😂😂 lekin nhi. Joking..., ek hi bottle holder hai aur vo bi tag jata tho kya paida. Issi ke vajase tata Wale ne band kardi isko lagane ka kasarat nhi kar rahe

My armrest seems to be holding well. No squeaks. Bottle holders aren't really compromised as there are a few more to use!
