Alejandro Romero dived into electronic music at the age of fourteen. He enjoyed listening to a wide spectrum of styles within the genre. His passion for mysterious and deep records increased with the years, going from the common to the most unusual kind of beats. His first attempt to expose his productions was under his own name and he kindly received feedback and likes from labels like Futurepast, Honne Music, Todd Nerdy, WhatNowBecomes and a few more from around the globe. After this success he decided to pursue a career in the Latin American scene with a new moniker called 'Amalgama'. This moniker had the intention to release non-binary music in which he pulled out records on labels like Halcxn, Cavilar, Organic Records, Ruem Trax, Impresión and his own label Overlap Records. The project highlight is a four track vinyl release in the Berlin based label 'System Error'. At the same time Alejandro had the necessity to explore downtempo and ambient realms. He discovered a whole new scene thanks to the attention of webzines like Delayed and Inverted Audio who premiered tracks from his past releases. With this support he launched 'Ópalo', an alias created to expose his taste for experimental downtempo and idm music. His first release under this moniker was an seven track album called 'La Edad Invisible' which was released in Caracteres, a sub label of Overlap Records created for ambient and electronica.
Alejandro future projects include an alias called Quantum, a moniker that compiles his past works that where not considered by records labels. He discovered this music was unique and special. Part of the project is to expose his taste for abstract art made by him with oil on paper. In the present he's still curating the boutique label Overlap Records and his sub label Caracteres.
