26:11 That is indeed a tool made for Kwiksets. If you needed to buy the "official" one, you would be shopping for a Kwikset Cylinder Removal Tool. I made my own about a year ago. The small nub at one end helps to turn the locking spindle when the door knob is disassembled, and helps to push a spring-loaded plate that retains or releases the locking spindle. If you need to rekey a Kwikset, you remove the locking spindle, then stick the forked end down into the recess inside the knob. The forks grab and compress a pair of spring clips that hold the lock core to the door knob and push the core out of the knob. The same forks can help you release the C-clip in the back of the lock cylinder. Insert key and plug follower, and you're now free to rekey your Kwikset door knob. Every locksmith or hardware store who offers rekeying a Kwikset door knob will have one of these tools.

Hello. Great video. I think the spool pins are named after the spools of cotton thread you can buy. They have a lip on the top and bottom the bobbin to keep the thread on. This is an awesome video and I echo the thoughts of the others when I say I wish there was a video like this when I started. Also wished there was accessible tools like there is now, I had to make everything myself, partially because of the cost to get stuff here and partially because at the time customs was confiscating everything to do with lockpicking if it wasn't addressed to a Locksmiths business. So couldn't even risk buying picks from overseas. Now we have a pick maker in Oz with Bare Bones it is great to be able to buy affordable accessible locksport gear. Thanks heaps for this video, cheers

Great video lady locks. I’ve been picking for about two years now, but I just joined Reddit lockpicking within the last few weeks, Just got my green belt using a blue belt lock so all I need to do to get my blue Belt is send out a challenge lock. anyway, I was wondering if you had any recommendations on a lock I could use for my challenge lock I have some old quickset cylinders I could modify but I feel like they will be way too easy. Anyway, if you have any suggestions for me Please let me know lol I know you’re probably busy so hopefully you see this message and if not, I’ll catch you on the next video lol. Quick edit. I do know whatever I use I’m going to have to modify. I just didn’t know if you had a better Brand than others to start with as a base I’m not opposed to going to the store and buying a new lock, such as a Brinks house lock, and just disassemble and steal the cylinder out of it to turn into a challenge lock. Just didn’t want you to think I was asking for a lock I can just buy and send out as a challenge lock!
@LadyLocks Жыл бұрын
Great job!! Ughh making challenge locks was so not my thing and then I got invited to a group challenge lock making challenge and I couldn’t say no to a challenge of course. So I just got done making a cl and still don’t have fun doing it.🤣😂🤣 I try to enjoy it but it’s so frustrating to me. A lot of people love it though and so I’m curious to see how you like it once you get started. So a kwikset will work fine for your first cl but if you’d like to make it a bit more challenging, a Schlage, Yale, or any euro cylinder pretty much would make for a bit of a harder lock to start with. Anything with better tolerances will be tougher for the picker really. If you can’t find something, let me know I’ve got Schlage cores here that were donated to picking time for me to give away so I’m more than happy to send you one of them to make your cl out of. If you’re in the US of course. If you’re over in the UK, it would take weeks to get to you and I don’t think you’d like to wait that long. lol. But yea I’m excited to see your submission for blue so hurry up and get that cl done. Even if you just throw together one out of a kwikset. You got to start somewhere and people know the first one is often not the best of our work when it comes to cls. Thanks for watching and for commenting! You can always email me or dm me on Reddit as well. Im Lady-Locks on there I believe. 😘❤️🥰😍☺️

If I want to get into advanced high security or European locks, how thin do the tools need to be? 0.4 mm ? 0.5 mm ? Great channel. For dimple locks, the only set I see that I would like is the Multipick Pro. Is that what you use ?
@LadyLocks6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! It's always good to have a set of thinner picks when you've got some crazy warding, but a lot of times I use the thickest pick I can that will fit before going right for the thinnest ones. As for dimple picks, I have a set of Multipick and I have the HUK picks from AliExpress. I love them both. Sometimes you need a tiny one, so the Multipack work well for that but when you need something a bit bigger or stronger, the HUK are a bit better. 🥰❤️

@LadyLocks Жыл бұрын
Aww thank you so much! The one I have screws down into the base then the side of the vise has a handle that turns and tightens. I’ve not had any wiggling from mine at all. Check to see if the spigot adapter is the same one I have linked in the description. I’ve seen several types of adapters that are different than mine. Maybe I just have one that fits better? I’m not real sure. Anyhow lmk if that’s not it and I’ll ask around to see if others have the wiggling issue. And if so what they did for it. Thank you for watching! 🩷🥰😘❤️☺️
