How, many locks could be made better with a HEAVY spring on the shackle that would keep you from thinking it's open by holding it tight? Hell. A lock with no guts and just a heavy shackle spring would be more secure than most master locks.
@kylerharris42464 жыл бұрын
That’s a funny idea
@MicraHakkinen4 жыл бұрын
I suspect that in this case, the reason for the spring holding the shackle closed is to make sure there is no tension on the locking mechanism. The magnetic key is probably only able to exert enough force to unlock it, but not enough to overcome the friction when the shackle sits against the mechanism.

Iron does not exhibit a coordinated magnetic field when in solution or as a solitary iron atom in a molecule such as hemoglobin. Ferromagnetism is the bulk alignment of the iron crystal's overall magnetic field orientation. It needs to be a metal crystal. TL;DR Iron is only 'magnetic' when it is a metal crystal and not when in solution or in a large molecule.

Ever try a centrifugal spinner on this kind of spring-loaded magnetic lock Bill? I.E. Spin the lock on it's axis to force the locking lugs out (which would otherwise be pulled out by the magnets) I think you would need a pre-tensioner on the shackle so it would pop when the lugs disengage. Also...I know it is not practical to spin a lock fastened to a hasp...just a thought experiment.
