Would love to see the confused face of the Lamelo worker that notices a spike in the mag device sales, but not the fasteners.

I'm not sure there's going to be a noticeable spike. Most magnetic locks can be beaten without it. So only people trying to beat this one obscure Russian lock are looking for it. I estimate that's somewhere between 0 and 1.

@@pkz420 BosinaBill and LPL have a fan base that buy stuff recommended by them for... any reason? Some people will also buy that thing for other uses - like I am an electrical engineer: I can imagine that this toy will be fun around electronics. How? I do not know - I would have to buy one and just try it out. What use to I assume getting out of it? Fun! How do I plan using it? The wrong way!

How, many locks could be made better with a HEAVY spring on the shackle that would keep you from thinking it's open by holding it tight? Hell. A lock with no guts and just a heavy shackle spring would be more secure than most master locks.

That’s a funny idea
@MicraHakkinen
@MicraHakkinen 4 жыл бұрын
I suspect that in this case, the reason for the spring holding the shackle closed is to make sure there is no tension on the locking mechanism. The magnetic key is probably only able to exert enough force to unlock it, but not enough to overcome the friction when the shackle sits against the mechanism.

Iron does not exhibit a coordinated magnetic field when in solution or as a solitary iron atom in a molecule such as hemoglobin. Ferromagnetism is the bulk alignment of the iron crystal's overall magnetic field orientation. It needs to be a metal crystal. TL;DR Iron is only 'magnetic' when it is a metal crystal and not when in solution or in a large molecule.

Ever try a centrifugal spinner on this kind of spring-loaded magnetic lock Bill? I.E. Spin the lock on it's axis to force the locking lugs out (which would otherwise be pulled out by the magnets) I think you would need a pre-tensioner on the shackle so it would pop when the lugs disengage. Also...I know it is not practical to spin a lock fastened to a hasp...just a thought experiment.

Fun Fact..... How much Iron is in a human body? Answer: Enough to make one sewing needle. FF#2... How do they fortify breakfast cereal with Iron? They file Iron directly into the cereal. You can confirm this with a powerful magnet and a box of cereal. Wet the cereal with water, grind it good, then mix with the magnet for about 10 minutes. And Voila, iron filings stuck all over your magnet.
