I’d never heard of cornbread until I watched you make it, it’s not a thing here in England I don’t think. Well, I’ve made it 3 times now and everyone’s that’s tried it has loved it. Now I find out there’s such a thing as ‘ cornbread dressing’! Was expecting it to be some sort of a sauce, but no. I’m a rubbish cook really, but you make it look so much fun and so easy, it’s like being taught by my mamma. Thanks so much for all the joy you bring ❤

hi pat. Good to see you again and in the kitchen our favorite place 😊. Stuffing looks good. I baught a pumpkin pie whipped topping and a very small ham corner and 2 sweet potatoes I'll cook with brown sugar, pineapple and marsh mellows and I'll cook some bread stuffing not in the box. And a whole green bean with bacon bits. And some gravy. For me and this other person staying with me. He's a long time person I've known somewhat of a friend. Anyway I'm thankful everyday for what JESUS has done in my life and things to come too. Also thankful I'll have something to eat and be able to warm things up. My oven doesn't work for 8 yrs now. And only 2 burners barely work. But I manage to get things cooked. Can't afford a oven right now financially struggling at the moment. But hopefully this yr somehow I can get the things I desperately need.

God bless you Granny Pat! ❤ I just subscribed to your channel after watching you make cornbread dressing. I have always wondered how it was made. My momma was from Chicago originally before marrying my dad and then they moved to Central Florida. I was born in Plant City, Florida and have lived in Florida my entire life. I am 67 yrs old now. My momma only made sage stuffing inside the turkey. My friends growing up served Cornbread dressing which I really preferred over the gooey bread sage stuffing. My folks never served cornbread anything. After I married my sweet hubby I learned all about cornbread and milk! 😮 Was his favorite thing to eat! I still don't like that...but had always made sure my sweetie had his. I said all that to say this...Thank you for your channel and sharing your recipes and stories! I look forward to your next videos!! ❤

I heat my stuffing in the crock pot. There is more than enough for everyone who loves it. It gets crusty on the sides next to the pot because so many love that as well. Keeps it warm all thru dinner and seconds. My stuffing is similar I add a little carrot that I peel off in short small pieces for some color and I fry the mir pois in butter then add stuffing. I’ve used Pepperidge Farm seasoned ( small pieces) have done this for 49 years. Everyone Enjoy!😊

Really enjoyed the video and showing the finished product. It is very close to my mom's recipe. She would alway chop2 boiled eggs and make the broth out of a whole hen. The consistency was like yours...moist, but not too "runny" . Don't eat runny dressing, some made in a slow cooker. Good to bake in a muffin tin and freeze to use later, when cooking for one. Love all your comments..."how do you like my necklace?"I usually answer you. 😅 with you. My kind of humor. Jan

Thank you gracious Lady for sharing your recipes with us, and rekindling our memories of bygone days. I know it's not very easy from your tiny kitchen. The comments are a delight to read. My ole maid schoolteacher aunt lived a mile from us. She'd drive up the road to eat with us if we were having a big meal like pot roast or a roasted hen. One year a big group of our relatives decided to take their kids snow skiing at TG, so my family and the neighbor aunt were left behind. She invited us to her house. She served a big hen and oyster dressing. Oh my, was that a flop! I think I was eight. I was certainly old enough to know to eat what was put on my plate without saying a word. And she kept offering us seconds. I think she served apple dumplings for desert, thus redeemed herself. My poor little brother had a real hard time eating anything but his chicken that day. Thanksgiving just wasn't the same without our whole big family together. At least with a whole gaggle of cousins the women didn't know which of us kids didn't clean our plates. No one could be denied dessert.

Love your story. I remember thinking us kids weren’t going to get anything to eat after the men kept reaching across the table with their boarding house reach.
@rt3box6tx74 Жыл бұрын
@chitchatwithgrannypat7900 My husband's uncles were all tall men who wore 36" shirt sleeves. They could reach into every corner of the dinner table, and they did. At my house I always served buffet style on holidays, but my mother-in-law had only one table so men got the first shift and women/children ate what was left. There were times that we cooked more food while the men were eating. My mother's parents took in nephews during the depression. She was around 10 yyrs old. She talks about them wiping out an entire spread of food while she got herself in the mood to eat. She learned the customary family table manners were suspended once the cousins came to stay the summer.
