Reminds me of my 1970 bug, it had scat racing heads bord 70 over with MSD everything. The dashboard had a chrome plack. It said EMPI. I miss that ride.

My brother had the 1835 cc motor in his Karman Ghia but based on a Type III cooling system, scat needle bearing crank, 92 jugs, flycut heads with 202/160 chevy valves, shuffle pinned case, super diff with a 7 lb flywheel & Scat C35 cam with 44 mm Mikuini's with removed venturies & properly jetted for mid & upper end power. It ran it's ass off being the fastest street VW in Ft. Walton Bch in the mid 70's.

I had a stinger on my bug years ago. When I would drive it to work I don't know how many people would come up and grab a hold of the stinger while it was still hot. And the proper way to run a stinger is with the baffle out.

From what I can hear, she sounds to far advanced, the spark ignites as the piston is 3/4- 1/2 way down the stroke.. Nothing a timming light can't fix
