@ArmyCop2 жыл бұрын
I was an MP from 84-91 and the fact that no information was taken from the civilian contractor who was pulled over minutes after the body was found is very very suspect. We wrote down everything as a matter of course. I have many “Memoranda” booklets that have all kinds of random information I wrote as I was looking into things. 99.5% of the stuff never mattered but that last .5% was critical.
@pernilla29622 жыл бұрын
That's really interesting. What's your theory about that the notes were not taken?
@ArmyCop2 жыл бұрын
@Pernilla - Honestly, I'm not sure. It could point to a conspiracy within the Redstone MP company. Since the Arsenal isn't a very large place the law enforcement presence isn't going to be more than a company size (~50-100 troops) and possibly smaller. The MPs are a very tight and very closed group so secrets don't get out. If the evidence didn't fit the narrative then the narrative will change to fit the evidence. This tracks with the shaky narrative since it isn't watertight. Puzzle pieces only fit well together one way; if you force the pieces small holes and inconsistencies appear. The idea of this being the case fills me with anger and sadness if it was true. The military police are a brother and sisterhood that I'm proud to be a part of. If this sort of situation was proven to be the case I would want the facts to be revealed fully and the soldiers involved held responsible.

Notes: 1. Chad was found on the ground, shot in head, cap stuffed in his mouth, gun lying beneath his left shoulder, handcuffed on one hand to note a few of the details of his death. This was ruled a suicide by military authorties and also seen as an elaborate method of staging a suicide to make it look like a murder. 2. So let's look at the first point-Ruling of suicide.There was reportedly no blood or Brain matter on his pistol. If this pistol was used to shot Chad and there were two shots expended from the pistol, why no blood or other residue? Also If Chad decided to end it all, why stuff a cap in his mouth? That doesn't strike me as a necessary move and It also doesn't add up. 3. Then there is the idea of this death as staged as a murder. If that was the case, why go out of the way to take his badge and patch and place it elsewhere? Why wrap cords around his legs? Why handcuff his hand ? All of these details strike me as needlessly complicated and quite frankly overdone. If Chad , an MP after all not just regular enlisted personnel, planned to stage his suicide as a murder why do it in a manner that makes no obvious sense? It strikes me as odd that a police officer would do this. 4. It is clear that was murder. Chad was not a screw up soldier, he was an efficient , effective Military personnel. This explains why the psychological autopsy was conducted - to categorize and frame Chad as a disturbed individual who was hanging out with a "bad crowd " This was essentially. a smear of Chad and a shameful one at that. 5. Based on the details and evidence of this case, this is what likely might have happened. Chad was probably working as an undercover. What might have happened is a source or two on the base might have tipped off the people Chad investigated and allowed an individual or two to visit the base and execute Chad . Its clear this was a set up. Supposedly Chad was instructed not to patrol near the facilities near the river prior to his solo patrol. Yet Chad ended up going out near the river to supposedly deal with a stalled car. This strikes me as rather convenient. Chad headed out and probably ran into people he only knew from his investigation. This might explain why his badge and patch were stripped and found elsewhere: Anger and fury. Perhaps there were two men . They overpowered Chad. The whole use of cord to wrap him up and stuffing his cap in his mouth seem improvised- a way to control this guy who may have struggled . They likely brought their own guns and shot him with one of them then took Chads pistol , shot off a couple of shots and left it there. it explains why there was no confirmation of Chad firing the gun or fingerprints on it and why unknown prints were on the gun.

I was in the Air Force as a lab technician. I was at Hill AFB, working in the lab, when a Tech Sergeant (E-5) was escorted in, in handcuffs, to get drug tested. Come to find out, he was the ring-leader of a drug ring, where he convinced lower-ranking individuals to help push the drugs around the base, as well as off base. He would have significant influence over these lower-ranking individuals, as well as leverage over them, being able to provide proof of their wrongdoings. Basically blackmailing these kids to commit federal drug crimes, on his behalf. I was so incredibly shocked by this at the time, because I was still freshly brainwashed, the military was comprised of people with integrity and fortitude. It is apparently a very common practice for individuals to get themselves tangled up In the wrong crowds, then having those who are higher-ranking than them threaten to get them in trouble, so they just do as they are told. It's usually the lower-ranking, young, impressionable people who get busted, and kicked out for whatever B.S. crime the AF makes up, and go home, or to jail, with their lives completely fucked. Just because they got in with the wrong crowd. I'm sure this happens in every branch, and I'm pretty sure this is what happened to Chad. It seems he had made up his mind to snitch, and he lost his life for it. The military never wants behaviors and crimes like this to be "known", so they make up stuff to discredit and dishonor the people involved. It's a fucked up part of the military, for sure. But that's the government for you, right?!? They can do whatever they want. It's all about politics, inside and out. The only time the military will ever admit to ANYTHING, is when THEY will be discredited and dishonored.

WHY does every branch of the military insist on covering up situations where they made mistakes instead of admitting they were made and moving on to correct them? By now enough of those situations have happened exposing the coverups. In this case the MP command of that base covered up a homicide. Normally in these cases military careers are flushed down the toilet, the branch is involved in major scandal. Nothing good comes out of coverups. So why do senior officers continue with that pattern of behavior?
@lydiarose52122 жыл бұрын
I have a suggestion as to why. The chain of command is "blamed" for any misdeeds of their subordinates. If it gets around that Private Joe Schmoe has been selling drugs in the barracks, for example, his whole chain of command is going to be scrutinized as to why they didn't notice and/or stop the behavior. The chain of command would have to decide individually whether to tell the truth and accept the potential tarnishing of their own record or CYA. Most military personnel have more integrity than that, but many don't. I can understand the temptation to CYA because a military career is hard-earned and a lot is at stake if you get yourself mixed up in something that could result in a court-martial/dishonorable discharge. However, my answer to that is to stay out of shady crap. It's not difficult to choose not to involve yourself. Of course, there are times when you might get involved unintentionally by stumbling upon or witnessing by accident something you shouldn't, which is a truly unfortunate situation. ETA: and the other side of that is being willing to do the right thing and report shady goings-on of your subordinates despite the fact that you may be scrutinized for it in some fashion. The right thing to do isn't always the easy thing to do.

Family needs to pitch a public fit like the family here in Texas did until they get the truth. It worked for them here. Get on tv , nationally. Go to any news source. Go to crime channels on youtube etc. Go to Facebook. Go to the highest military people you can get to. Gather friends and family and hold gatherings. Keep the pressure on. And get the other 40 families to raise cane with you. Heartfelt condolences to Chad's family, his ex fiance, and to all the families who have been lied to about their deceased military family. I wish I could than them all for their service and tell them how sorry I am for whatever really happened to them. Im sorry for all of your losses. I actually lost someone I was deeply in love with for 5 years to a real suicide. Its been since 91 on valentines day. I got married 9 years later. But I still grieve. I wish he had not done this. If only he was still on this earth I would be happy knowing he was still out there playing his music and writing his songs. I would be happy just to be his friend or get a call once in a while. Anything, just to know he was still among the living. So I can feel your pain to a degree. May God draw you near to His love and salvation.

Talk about holes in the evidence. This case literally left me standing with my jaw hanging open. So much apathy and mishandling of clues amidst the lack of evidence in the investigations as to make what work was done incomplete. If nothing else, some.normal curiosity would have been helpful. Far too many questions left unanswered. The statistics on non combat related military deaths is troubling. In light of this case and the other supposed suicides exposed after Chad's death, I can't help wondering if the trend continues in ruling deaths suicide when in cannot be conclusively proven. Either way, those statistics hit hard. A lot of loss, a lot of heartbreak.

As someone who served 00-04 in the USMC, i KNEW you’d say they would close it as a suicide. That’s literally what they do. The public (families included) RARELY get anything resembling a true story regarding what happens.

This is the most ridiculous case I've ever heard. Don't trust your government.

@33:39 it's one thing if you're going to Stage it as of in the line of duty death and put the handcuffs on but you're probably not going to bother to get the key to lock the one you're wearing because that would make no sense it would be completely unnecessary even if you're trying to fake it, actually that would probably make it look weird or so you would definitely not lock the cuff and keep the key in your hand stuff your bloody hat in your mouth and then pick up your gun and shoot yourself twice that's ridiculous with no gunpowder residue all over you

With all due respect to the honorable men and women serving our Country, this was handled exactly as if it was a cover up had he been a confidential informant. I think it's safe to say he crossed someone further up the chain.

I see classifying deaths as "suicides" even when they almost certainly aren't isn't just a civilian LE trick.

Regular criminals wouldn't be allowed onto Redstone.. Only military personnel and NASA personnel are allowed. I moved to Huntsville in 97 and currently work on Redstone for NASA. Also, I love hearing the crescendo in your tone of voice that eventually leads to you uttering curse words 😁

If I had any information regarding this case, the LAST thing that I would do, is contact the military police. Next thing you know, Stephen would be doing a mysterious disappearance about me. 👎🏾You'd do better trying to contact his family.

@19:57 unless it's not really something to worry about it looks like the police saw that writing and took the picture of it before the medical examiner discovered it but maybe it's just something that stuck out... could it have been a partial license plate number and the driver's name perhaps for the stalled car m a r 0 3 or perhaps the year sticker was actually 93 just hard to read, with the birth date for the current registration. And could the white residue have been from the person in the stalled Vehicles car and the one that hero dispatch pulled over

@12:56 or to the people who aren't supposed to be back there stay out because we're busy doing some we're not supposed to so we're just going to pretend it's because of the distance

I'm sorry but if these guys are such antisocial lonely bombs waiting to go off then why does the army keep accepting them or leaving them unsupported? They are so full of it

Like everyone i know has depression, almost every person who has depression doesn't end their own life. If they investigated my murder they'd say it's suicide? WHY would he do it? Why would he work 3 months on it? Suicide related to mental illnesses is usually IMPULSIVE, not a 3 month process to fake people out. They're just LYING

Exactly my thoughts when that was brought up. They just needed to do a character Assassination on the poor kid after he could no longer respond.

@ 11:23 I guarantee you that he wasn't a platoon leader at the rank of Specialist. In the army, platoon leaders are officers, not enlisted men. Lol Ridiculous I'm sure that info probably came from the family who probably don't know the rank/leadership structure of the military, or were hoping to make their son seen more impressive than he was in reality. There's TONS of other problems/misinformation within this story.

I'm living in Medellin now. Envigado to be more specific. Former location of Pablo's 'la Oficina'. Medellin is pronounce Meh-deh-jeen. Same inflection as 'kerosene'. For the double L's (ll), it's a very soft g sound. The same sound as in pollo. When I learned Spanish in school, double L sounded more like a Y. But not in the case of Medellin.

@38:18 so the radio dispatcher who's privy to everything who helped with the search and also decides to pullover the car yet not take any information even though they would know more than anybody from start to finish what happened like that is a serious red flag what is he an MP that he's pulling over cars what did he say was his reason for pulling it over anyways! Considering sometimes there's partial truths and statements were they mad at their wife who was their wife! My guess is their name is Robert and their birthday is in March

A fundamental tenet of the professional practice of psychology and psychiatry is that clinical assessment and diagnosis cannot- and must not- be carried on anyone who hasn't directly participated in a clinical interview with the respective provider. The practice of "psychological autopsy" is, therefore, in violation of the professional and ethical standards of psychology and psychiatry. A clinician may hypothesize, at best, as the a deceased person's state of mind at the time of death, but cannot determine, by any scientific method, the state of mind of a person she/he has never met, especially when this determination is to be carried through third party reports and impressions.
