So many questions! Daniel Cooper's resin putty technique for something different but will it work? And will the silicone putty inlays I made in video #178 actually work? Will Eco Pour, Epoxy Resin and PU Resin all work together in the same make? And lets do a Christmas make to test that last one
See Daniel's video on the resin Putty here kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYmzfqp5rpaEf8k

This is such an awesome trinket tray. SO CUTE! For your snowflake mold, lay your snowflake on the table and press your mold stuff on top. It won’t be deep that way, but you should be able to remove the wooden snowflake that way. Just love you ad Daniel both for your “let’s go for it!” attitude.

Tracey, that trinket tray is flipping adorable. I need to make something like this myself now lol. Maybe if you add some mould release to the shapes before you add it to the resin putty, might make it release a bit easier. Or give the snowflakes/shapes a coating with UV resin or varnish 1st so they aren't pouruos any longer, then add mould release and see if that works. The wooden shapes will probably always stick if not sealed as the resin will absorb into the wood. Great video and deffo not a fail. Just another lesson learned, for you and all of us. All the best, Diane x

This turned out very CUTE!! I LOVE it!! 💜😍💜 Just one lil tip though...if you're making a snow scene, and your lil dots are supposed to be snow...they should be all over the sky, because it doesn't just snow in lil spots. 😅 Maybe at least just make it uniform all over the sky?? Just a suggestion dear. I really like how this turned out. Yes, Daniel is a genius with all his experiments with resin...and it's so fun to watch everyone experiment with it as well!! I wonder if your snowflakes would have worked if you would have pulled the actual snowflakes off while the "resin putty" was still soft?? It would have still left the impression to harden up then. Would that work maybe?? Thank you for letting us watch you have fun experimenting!! 😊

Place the resin snowflake mould into hot water this should soften up the wood enough to pull them out.

You don't need a mask to just use cornstarch...ya cook with it. With the resin, yes...but not by itself. Have you not ever cooked with cornstarch?? You use it to thicken things like sauces, soups, and gravy. 😊

I don't cook. I didn't even know what it was but there was dust flying in the air from it and I was using epoxy so - respirator on :)

You know, in the Uk it’s called cornflour… it’s in the baking isle.. custard powder should work as well… the powdered on in the tub, not the instant type!

yes I'm in the uk and it is also called cornstarch - just bought a big bag from Tescos and it was called cornstarch on the shelves there. I tried custard powder - it doesn't set :)

@frogzone7250 I’m also in the UK. Out of interest cause I like to know these things and I’m nosey. But cornflower and corn starch are actually different as per the copied explanation below: Corn flour is a yellow powder made from finely ground, dried corn, while cornstarch is a fine, white powder made from the starchy part of a corn kernel. Both may go by different names depending on where you live. Corn flour is used similarly to other flours, whereas cornstarch is mainly used as a thickener.
