Interestingly bayonetless version was the earliest one issued to German Colonial Police in the Pacific and eventually replaced by the later bayonet taking version. Your video sheds some light on this, thanks.

I also have a Siamese here. Only the mine still has the normal length and all German markings (Oberndorf Mauser).
