These saved me $100,000 several times, although I have been using Optex brand for many years now. I have a high-value F-350 CC diesel 4X4 (with a tailgate assist - thanks to you, AP!). Here in the USA, where rampant theft is legal, and there are no cops who can "do anything", I have sensors protecting my F-350 (and other vehicles). 2 for perimeter monitoring and one in the interior of the truck cab. I should also note I have multiple 4k surveillance cameras covering my parking area as well, but the cops won't even look at those. We have crooks shopping through our neighborhood all the time. There to steal (especially) pickups. I have HD video of a theft of a neighbor's F-350 which took less than 1 minute for the thief (armed with only a screwdriver) to drive away. $100,000 replacement cost - gone. They have come back for my F-350 several times. These wireless driveway alarms immediately alert me when an intruder is actively trespassing and also let me know when they have actually entered. Different alarm tones identify the different zones so I know where they are. I have them monitoring perimeters all around the property and inside outbuildings, etc. They will alert you in time to get some shoes on and grab a shotgun. Here in Amerika, we can't rely on anyone to protect us, and these are invaluable in our efforts to help us protect ourselves. Many of my friends now use these as well. It took me many years of hard work and lost family time to buy my truck. It is not going anywhere without a fight - a fight cops refuse to get involved in. I also do other things to keep my vehicles from actually being driven away, but these are great as a first-line defense. It would be nice if the alarm tones could be programmed to say "TRUCK", "FRONT GATE", or "GARAGE", etc. That would be a huge improvement, especially when these alert, and wake me up at night. From a dead sleep, it takes a few precious seconds to understand and identify which alert is sounding. Well worth the money though - it has saved me much, much, more than what they cost me. A wireless solar video cam would be ideal due to the virtual fence and fence area settings. No false notifications. Only human and vehicles.

@@AlecPeirceAtTheRanch yes if you're a hunter it'll wake you up so you can get the deer or moose lol. You don't have to sit outside and wait for it! You probably get more notifications from animals than you do from humans! Some people came and cased my yard out and I had to set up a motion sensor and for one whole month I hardly had any sleep due to animal notifications. A month later the guys finally came back and I was actually awake before the motion sensor warned me. If I wasn't awake it would have woken me up , that or the loud diesel motor in their truck lol. I confronted them and put fear into them lol. Two weeks later I decided to get a better security system! No animal detection's anymore. Just humans or vehicles.

I bought several cheap driveways alarms for a serious armadillo problem in my garden. They all did great at first but slowly began going off randomly or not working at all. Someone said I may have damaged them by placing them facing up my driveway to alert me when my sister arrives to take me to my doctors which may have exposed the sensor to the morning sun. I gotta change the batteries in my latest one to see if I can get it working right again. It hasn`t been alerting me to package deliveries. I have a new one still in the package. I also use them by my trail camera to let me know when something shows up. And when I first started leaving out food for a squirrel, raccoon, and a family of birds I used one to alert me when they arrived. I also have a bunny friend in my yard and was able to tame her by using the alarm to alert me when she was outside and I`d go out and talk to her.

I read too that prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can affect the sensor. That's why I put mine in the shade. So far no problems or missed alarms. Maybe have someone come and check out your setup for a fix or better setup. A

Hi Alec. I wonder if there is a low resolution video version of this alarm? Then you can see big-foot trying to come by for a visit. It must be worrisome when it goes off and no one is there, possibly only a flaming bag of poo. Ok only in my youth. I recall seeing a funny video of a guy sitting on his deck reading and is startled by a bear walking up from behind him. I always like active cameras living in the city , in plain view as a deterrent or evidence. Take care Owen m

So you "think" it's rechargeable, because you haven't used the charge port and you have it out of the sun so it can't charge from solar. How is it getting power?

Its primary power source is solar, but has a power port for initial charging. It works really well. A
