You have a really relaxing, soft way of speaking, which is so enjoyable to listen to. And it's interesting seeing both the yarns you talk about and what you have knitted.

What a spectacular colour that Liv is! Shame that these are always limited editions. And that Plotulopi grey with the purple Lola shade would look stunning.
@CedarTreesBumblebees2 жыл бұрын
Liv is an amazing shade, something I can't really compare to anything else. And yes I agree, the purple and grey seem like they will go very nicely together (even though neither are shades I'd use on their own).

And I think you are right with the dark colour being Adekvat, a similar colour way to Medvind from this time last year :)
@CedarTreesBumblebees2 жыл бұрын
Thank you I think it probably is Adekvat considering a few others have mentioned it too.

Love the stella?blue color. It is a greenish blue, and blue-greens are my favorites, along with cinnamon. Never worked with a roving style like the nutiden,, the plutilopi I've felt seemed rough, although people say it softens up. All those yarns have amazing multiple colors, nice to see the close-ups. Yummy yarn!
@CedarTreesBumblebees2 жыл бұрын
Thank you these colours were really stunning and Nutiden has a unique way with colour. Also Plotulopi definitely softens up considerably after the first wash and block.

What an exciting un-bagging! It was so funny listening to how excited you were with your order - that blue/orange combo was stunning. I agree with you - the main color(Liv, I think) and the purple would go so well together as long as the colorwork is minimal - even a basic geometric design at the hem and sleeves would look stunning. The variances in Liv reminds me of Ugie Pearl from JC Rennie. Yes, I think the color you had was Adekvat - it looks similar to Bergtagen, but it's more likely to be Adekvat given then time you purchased it. I decided to skip May because I had purchased quite a bit during the past 2 shop updates, but Lola really caught my eye. Something I would pair with a mohair. By the way, did you get all those small bundles for free? That's great! I always purchased the max bundles, and never got any freebies, but that could be the reason. Maybe during their next shop update, Lola or something interesting will be available, but I'm trying to restrain myself. My yarn orders this year has been a wild ride. There are quite a few popular patterns for cardigans, but I'm trying to make the most out of the free ones. Maja cardigan is a free pattern using lettlopi - it's a colorwork pattern, but you can simply skip the colorwork and knit a plain cardigan. It requires steeking, but this means it could be knit in the round. Check out patterns by Espace Tricot - they have beautiful patterns which are free. Can't beat that. Moorland Cardigan by Tania Barley is a paid-for pattern, but it is beautiful. It used Nutiden, but you can easily use plotulopi. It has a nice structure and a great design. And no, keep the long videos coming. They are so fun to watch.

Enig you are a mind reader! I was thinking of pairing one strand of Ugie Pearl with a strand of Liv to make it go further. They would compliment each other beautifully although I might use Liv now for another design which has caught my eye from Hundred Acre Wool called Fields of Gold but we will see. Also I've been using the Maja Cardigan, Eventyr Sweater and Moorland Cardigan patterns (I have all of them) to cast on a self styled plain cardigan which I intend to steek using information from these patterns. I might end up frogging it as I do with a lot of my self styled patterns but so afar this is coming along well. And I have a gamut of Espace Tricot patterns in my favs - they and Purl Soho are really amazing in their free pattern offerings. As to the 'Lucky Charms' I got I actually bought the 250g bag which is limited to 1 per person. I bought 600g of Liv to give me a garment quantity of it xx.

@@CedarTreesBumblebees Ahhh, I was wondering if I had been missing a nutiden buying trick 😃. It's always so exciting trying to decide how to use unique yarns. That would be so cool pairing Ugie and Liv. Ugie will be used for strength and the natural halo from nutiden and the softness of the fabric would create an ethereal beauty. Hundred Acre Wool - she is amazing. She is so talented and just a joy to watch. I was never a fan of too many colors, but she modified this pattern by Marie Wallin and it was beautiful. I told myself I was going to steek my Maja cardigan this week, but I've been so busy. I can't wait to get it done and knit up another. Although, I would like one with a v-neck since round yokes are not really my thing. I got some Drops Air during their sale and would like to knit up a few light cardigans.

That sounds amazing! You should make a KZbin video of your knits Enig it would be great to see some of your makes
@Enig_Mata2 жыл бұрын
@@CedarTreesBumblebees I really should consider that. I have been knitting fairly consistently over the past 6 months and learning so much with each project. I was looking at the small stack of completed sweaters and thought it would be nice to record how far I've come. Perhaps some day I will do it.
@CedarTreesBumblebees2 жыл бұрын
I hope you do! I really enjoy watching other peoples progress and of course the yarn! But seeing different people knit is just simply very inspiring. Let me know if you do I can sub :-)

I wouldn't be mad if you showed us how you store/organize your yarn stash! :)
@CedarTreesBumblebees2 жыл бұрын
Lol I wish I had an actual organised system! Right now my yarn is in bags and drums, strewn all over the place. I need to make a proper place for them and think I will need to do some 'spring cleaning' soon to make a place for all this yarn!
@dkay86772 жыл бұрын
Cedar Trees & Bumblebees I only say that because I’m always looking for ideas. My problem is that I’m a visual person if it’s hidden in a cupboard it’s so easy to forget about it and then I go but more when I really do not need to.🤦🏼♀️
@CedarTreesBumblebees2 жыл бұрын
I can seriously relate to that! Out of sight, out of mind is a huge issue for me. It's one of the reasons why I started cataloguing all my fibre and yarn purchases on word documents. I have a picture of the yarn (copied from the website) with info beside it such as weight, fibre composition, yardage etc. It really helps with knowing what I have and what project I can start on next. But I am looking into physical storage solutions too and so far I haven't settled on one quite yet. Hopefully I will find one soon and can make a video about what I've found to work :-)

Cedar Trees & Bumblebees Well I just bought the Milsbo glass cabinet from IKEA (even though I’m not an IKEA fan). Still have yet to put it together. Although it may not be big enough. 😳

Oh girl! I have only 1 pair of socks I’ve made and they are too big YET I wear them every day to work because they feel SO GOOD! I wash them out and hang to dry 😂😂😂😂. I’m knitting another pair but my mom has claimed them. Next pair will be DK so I hope they go faster. I’m addicted. Quick make yourself some!!! Let me know
@CedarTreesBumblebees2 жыл бұрын
Oh wow lol! I know what you mean - I didn't think I would like wool socks so much. It was a revelation :-) And I am going to cast on socks once I've got a few other projects completed soon. And yes they will be DK because why wouldn't you want them to knit up quick?

Thank you for this. I have just placed my first order for Nutiden so it was great to see your unboxing! Did you have to pay customs, taxes or other extra charges?
@CedarTreesBumblebees Жыл бұрын
Your welcome and glad you enjoyed. I have had to pay customs in the past when my order to the UK exceeded £135. If I can remember to keep my order below that amount I don't get charged. I've had to pay about £47-£50 usually when you do get hit with the customs.
@HazelBecker-r1u Жыл бұрын
@@CedarTreesBumblebees thanks for your reply. I wasn’t sure if the £135 included postage costs. Luckily my order arrived without any additional charges. It would have been a LOT extra to pay!
@CedarTreesBumblebees Жыл бұрын
The £135 does include the postage charge! I've actually been hit with the customs charge because I didn't realise that. But yeah it's the total amount including postage charges that have to be below £135. So glad you didn't get hit with additional charges - it's not the best feeling to know you have to pay that much extra before you can get your stuff :-)
