Not usually, the aria is written for tenors. The opera character is a tenor, so sopranos are just making experiments with this aria.

When she hit that high note.....I lost it. The sheer beauty of this piece is incredible, but to hear it done this well, by a soprano, isn't an easy task. And, again, I'm so jealous of her neighbors. All I get is 80s rock, country, and dance/house music from mine.

This is such a classic. I will forever associate it with pairs ice dancing and/or pairs figure skating. In my mind I even hear the intermittent grazing of ice skates against the ice as if from a well landed throw triple axel or even any well landed singles jump.
