"Circa" 1907 French, Gramophone & Typewriter, Senior Monarch Phonograph.
This would have been the "top of the line" G&T Gramophone available in 1907, with its enormous Aluminum Concert Horn.
Playing: Regal Record #8598-A, You're A Real Sweetheart, Fox Trot with Vocal Chorus by Rodman Lewis, Sam Lanin's Dance Orchestra (6/28/1928).

Sound quality is very good for the time. I would definitely buy one if I had the coin back then.

James flynn with those soundboxes that lean over to one side and destroy the grooves. I hate those things

Just wondering what that tone arm tracks at, LOL. Thanks for the look back. If you fell into that horn they would never find you.

These machines are meant solely for playing old 78rpm records (from before about 1960). They're made out of Shellac, can be any sizes (but tend to be 10 inches in diameter), and shatter if not handled carefully (handle it just as if you were handling something made of glass). Whatever you do, do not play a Vinyl LP or a 45rpm single on a Gramophone. They will fit on the Turntable, but the steel needle and tracking force of 100+ grams will absolutely wreck the record, not to mention the grooves being 1/3 the width of a 78rpm record and the speed difference.
