It's amazing how all of that 'faux' posh stuff just made all of the spaces feel heavy in such a big house. Tall ceilings are one of the beautiful things about old homes, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you put back in those spaces to capture the proper vintage look. Simplicity is a design concept lost on a lot of people. Carry on, sir!

It’s interesting. “Very Italian” used to mean heavy and ornate. Probably included Victorian dark mahogany paneling and furniture. All in all, nothing to do with Italy.

Great stuff. Someone told me once their most difficult jobs were redoing /fixing owner updates. Almost always it was either inferior materials, sub-par craftsmanship, or a combo of both. I look forward to see what you have in store for this beauty of a house. It should be fantastic when you are done with it. Thanks for letting us come along for the ride.

Great to see there are homeowners who are willing to return to the original period house. I'm looking forward to seeing the remodel unfold and the end results.

Yessss so glad we get to see this remodel unfold. As an aside, I wish it was easier to navigate to the other Italianate house vids or that your content was organized into various subchannels.

That 90's kitchen is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. The half-round bay cantilevered over those stubby Tuscan columns is simply horrendous. Great house, though. I feel certain that Hull and his team can bring it back to its original splendor!

The homeowner allowing for this to be 'corrected' will convert this house from a "Saddam Hussein Palace" (with less gold), into a classic and sophisticated home. I look forward to seeing the transition.

Like one of Elaine's wacky boyfriends, you are the "Maestro". I look forward to watching the progress on this place. I can't help but run thought experiments on how this place could be respectfully turned into a multi unit. Warren Buffet lives in a relatively modest home. Why do so many American's "need" a palatial home? The historic examples are superb and are part of our cultural fabric and thus of emense value. But, maybe my thought process is as wacky as Elaine's boyfriends.🙂🙂💯💫
