@Dominic Masciarelli you're 100% correct, he started the pull in second, and hit his top end in 5th. That would be in line with C5/C6. 6th is overdrive not meant to be pulled, with the ZR1 being the exception to that rule

@wavebye14 жыл бұрын
They were more than likely his "Block Spotters". We used to do the same thing for drag racing with the faster street cars back in the day. "Block Spotters" are a type of "support vehicle" that acts as a "lookout" and blocks that intersecting road so that no cars are able to pull out in front of him. Because at that speed, IF a car was able to have unimpeded access to the highway and turn, neither the car turning or the 'Vette would ever see the other until it was too late. That's why you see every car turn in behind him right as he passes.

@fonetikly9 жыл бұрын
In my experience, BMW's traction control is a light on the dashboard that tells you that the car was about to do something stupid and the system stepped in to save your silly ass from spinning like a top. You have to turn it off to have fun. In a Corvette, traction control is a light that apparently blinks to distract you from the terror of currently being sideways at felony-level speeds. I've never had the balls to turn it off.

To all the haters of this car. It's a true 1000+ WHP car. 1,090 according to the dynapac dyno video here on you tube. At half that, it's probably still more powerfull than a majority of you haters vehicles. I've read comments on here that are plain stupid. Of course, it is the internet and I suppose it comes with the territory. One comment a guy made said Hahah you need 1000 HP to do 190 mph. Answer:....Umm no but 1000 whp will sure help you get there fast. To the other haters. Most of you have probably never driven a car with this kind of power so go back to your stock Honda civics with obnoxious exhaust.
@KCDW835 жыл бұрын
Truth. You need a legitimate 700hp just to break the 200mph barrier. Wind resistance is a bitch. My experience is in standing mile runs, you will never see 200mph without at least 700hp. Obviously weight and areo play a part but as a rule of thumb it works.
@bradymosberger62715 жыл бұрын
@@KCDW83 that is a gross exaggeration of the power needed to hit 200 lol, the ferrari f40 was the first car to ever hit it and its 32 years old and it only have 471 horsepower, you need 700hp in a brick like a charger or challenger because of aerodynamics. tons of luxury gt cars have around 600 something horsepower and can do 200 If you wish, look up Jerry Hathaway’s Citroen SM, 3 liter twin super charged V-6 which did 202 mph at Bonneville. Cannot find the HP, but could be close to 300. I think we are in the ball park.
@KCDW835 жыл бұрын
@@bradymosberger6271 like I said, I'm talking a mile from a dead stop no burnout. You are going from zero to however fast you can go in a mile. Look up the ECTA. East Coast Timing Association. They are running a mile and a half track now in Ohio. I'm just speaking on my own experiences of 200+mph cars. Sure a 500hp car could hit 200mph but its gonna take way more than a mile. Different cars are built for different things.

***** If he has 6,500 to 7,000 rpm to play with, he can get away with doing 150+ in the 1:1 gear, assuming he has the right rear gears to go the distance. The big boys, the 440's & 454/455's, even the 396/402, they have some trouble with RPM because of their long stroke, long rod length, lots of mass there, so they were questionable at above 6,500 rpm. That kind of engine would need 3.31's or 3.42's to top out around 160-165. The hemi had the same stroke as a 440 but it obviously moved air better at mid/high rpm's and could easily handle 7k+ so it could use 3.55's or 3.73's and still top out around 160, but without giving up quite as much acceleration. My favorite big blocks are the often overlooked Chrysler 383 & 400 though. They both shared the same low-deck block, and the same stroke too, a very short 3.38 inches, roughly the same stroke as the Chrysler 340 small block in fact. This means that a 383 or 400 using the stock crank easily has the best mix of rpm capability and low/mid range torque out of all the big blocks. A rebuilt 383 for example, bored over to 392 cubes, knife edged stock crank with some badass bearings, Eagle H-beam rods with ARP bolts, KB 10.5:1 aluminum pistons, .575 lift hydraulic roller, cheap stealth aluminum cylinder heads, port-matched intake manifold with short/fat runners for minimal horsepower loss after peak RPM's, 1000 cfm dominator, easily 550 hp and 500 ft-lbs of torque, but it would make peak power at 6,500+ and spin 8k all day long, and while still pulling with good torque from 3k up through 6k. Just a really badass block with no weaknesses.

camirocz I worked for a car dealership "Team One Chevrolet- Oldsmobile" back when I had the car. I was the second owner of the car & I had it dyno tested and it was producing 385 hp. When I bought the car it had only 63,000 original miles on it & it had the build sheet in the glove box, the car was ordered & purchased from the same car dealership that I worked at. When it was ordered, it was ordered with an "Extra Heavy Duty drive-train" & an "Extra Heavy Duty Towing suspension", that is what the build sheet read. (The old man that owned it probably towed his camper with it) I had 235/75R15 on the rear & 215/75R15 on the front(and I know that tire size plays a factor in top end). It was a long time ago & I guarantee you that it topped out at about 150-160. It is probably true that it did not hit 170, but it was close to that. I drove a lot of back-roads & highways with it. It was my first & only big block that I have ever had, & it was fast!!! Well that is all I can remember clearly cause it was a long time ago for me(20yrs).

Of course, the GTR trolls made their way here. "I need to stroke my ego and reassure myself that the sports car I can't afford and will probably never own is the best ever." -Sad, myopic, hateful fanboy of on every car video ever

but a GTR would destroy this shitpile. 1000hp for a GTR is underbuilt rofl. it's easy to get them to 1600+.. and you have AWD. i love mine, tbh. there is no way my car would lose to this garbage can meme car, at a dig or a pull.

I beg to differ on that one. They will certainly try and they have these things called Choppers. This is a Felony Charge I know it's not 190 but a buddy of mine got clocked by a chopper doing 165 by a chopper using the little white lines along the freeway and set a roadblock on his ass a few miles up. And they had proof when he was actually stopped he was only running 90 or so but they clocked him at almost 170 and it wasnt good.

I love how he just goes from 1st to 3rd like yah I’ll get no traction in 2nd and it still pulls like that. Insane.

That was 1-2-3.
@corning1 Жыл бұрын
@@kylegilmore3810 no it wasn’t. He went from first to third. Making that much power second is irrelevant. I own a c6 I know the gearing. He went from 55, to 115. That’s 1st and 3rd. Second is 55-80. There was no shift obviously at 80.

Going that fast there are a few things to consider... the tire rating and when they give out (especially wear in excess speeds) and also the final drive ratio gearing. It might simply run out of gear.

I've gone 190 a couple times on my Hayabusa. Scary shit. It's hard to find a time and place where there are no cars on the road and no chance of a deer running across. I had a bridge over water near my house that was about 10 miles long. Would go there on Sunday mornings right when the sun was coming up. Very few cars on the road at that time. Would sit on the shoulder before the bridge waiting for a long enough break between cars. The suction from the wind would try to pull me up and off the bike. Would have to pull up on the handlebars while squeezing the gas tank with my knees to stay on. Hoping that the centrifugal force of the wheels wouldn't dismount the tires from the rims, causing a blowout. Going that fast, everything was a blur. I would catch up to the car that was miles in front of me so fast, literally within seconds. Scary shit.

Alwaaays expect the unexpected. I once thought I was all alone while taking my Mustang up to 240 km /150 mph only to be passed by a bunch of guys on sport bikes doing at least 300 k/185 mph WITH THEIR LIGHTS OFF BEING CHASED BY A COP IN A DODGE CHARGER. I could have sneezed or made a lane change and wiped them out like bowling pins and trying to explain something like that would have been bizarre. Thankfully they all passed me and now I have a bigger rearview mirror haha.
