1911 Torture Test: Rock Island 1911 45 ACP

How does a 1911 hold up to drops, sand, water, and mud? History says very well but let's see how this Rock Island 1911 handles the torture test. Will it do better than it's more modern 9mm Dagger or will the old warhorse take the cake?

Appreciate you doing this so we don't have to. "Like the AK of handguns". Depends on tolerances of each build. Some manufacturers are tighter or looser. Like a magic formula or recipe. Some find that sweet spot or balance between both. I've had good luck with RIA 1911's and MAP (CZ-75 clone) pistols. Tried 40 S&W and 45ACP. Liked the 22TCM and 9mm best. Good data points and fun video 👍

Try the RIA STK100 striker metal alloy frame (G17 clone) next. They also got the Gen2's coming out this year STK200 (G19).

Series 70s 1911s don’t have a firing pin block ..you are very lucky that did not fire when it landed
