They are my favorite to look at too. I just like seeing things in their original state, with all the age and patina.

My grandfather just passed away, he was a collector of everything. Going through his barn I found an engine for a 1911 Pierce Arrow with serial number #11. It was used for an air compressor.

I saw a 1931 pierce arrow land speed record car,Is not much left of the car but the owner cannot find any information about the vehicles history except for the fact that supposedly it was a speed record car. After seeing this motorcycle and the info on the manufacturer he might be able to find something.thank you for the great videos.

It is pretty surprising actually...large parts of the country were still driving on dirt roads at the time. Hard to believe they worried about plates....but I guess the govt has always looked for ways to get some money.

The Pierce motorcycles were designed by Percy Pierce, the son of George Pierce, who established the car company. They had a couple of unusual features: 1. The engine formed part of the frame 2. The frame tubes carried fuel and oil, eliminating the need for separate fuel and oil tanks. The Pierce was the first American motorcycle to feature a 4-cylinder engine. Unfortunately the bikes cost more to build than what they could be sold for, and the company was out of business by 1913.

Very cool indeed, thank ya! I have to wonder (not being a resto expert, myself) won't the rubber and leather bits just continue to rot away, without some kind of treatment?
