Misbah, I'm so amazed to see your story!! Guy Duncan Smith was my grandfather!! I have heard many incredible stories about him from my father, and have the articles from the SF Newspaper and also the Aerial Crusader by Rudyard Kipling. I'd love to see more about his life. I'm told he was a very brave man with quite a colorful personality.

Duncan (as he was known to his family, at least here in England) was my great uncle too, and my grandmother Doris was very proud of her handsome brother. She often talked about the dreadful day they were told that Duncan was missing, presumed drowned and the even better day they discovered he was in fact alive. I have a copy of the story (not one of Kipling's finest efforts!) and several other papers relating to Duncan's wartime career. Thank you for your lovely, well-researched film - I am curious as to how Duncan's story came to be known to your family.

Thank you for watching this.Yes, Duncan indeed has many incredible stories. I got to know of this story from my Grandfather. Back in 2003 he visited the island of Fiali, where the two officers were taken to. He heard of the story of 2 white men on a flying boat. His curiosity lead him to write and inquire to Fleet Arms Museum in UK. They sent some documents related to the story. I found these documents with him last year, it prompted me to do a bit of researched which resulted in this documentary.

Thanks for this, very interesting but, for me the music was far too loud and rather grating. However as I said all very interesting.

My great great great grandfather Sultan shamsudeen III ruled Maldives twice during 1880’s and 1939 if I am not wrong. He was kind of a dictator killing many but he accomplished a lot. Interested to hear this.

You have done a beautiful job here. I am writing a family history for Guy's nephew, Richard Iversen, of Healdsburg, CA. Do you know about Guy being accused of being a German spy?

Shonnie Brown thanks for the comment. I’m sorry I do not know any info regarding that accusation. Good luck with your project 😊
