Man my grandma wasn’t even born yet and she just died this year at 97 years old. Life and time are crazy notions.

It always blow my mind that NYC already had skyscraper at that time while Europe only started building skyscraper a few decade after WW2
@illdrumatik3914 жыл бұрын
Holy crap is that true?
@Pinastri3 жыл бұрын
Not at all. In Poland we builded skyscrapers in 1906 year in Warsaw. Then in 20s in other cities. The Swedish-owned company also known as Cedergren, won a tender in 1900 to expand the Warsaw telephone network. For that purpose, two buildings were built at Zielna street in downtown Warsaw, holding the telephone exchange and the company's headquarters. The building was built between 1904 and 1910. At this time it was the highest building in Europe.

No, that simply isn't true, the first skyscraper on the European continent was The Boerentoren or KBC Tower, 1931, so 8 years before WW2, not "a few decade(s) after WW2", It always blows my mind that we have such easy access to this information but people make up their own versions of reality/history.

In 1889 the first skyscraper of Europe was built in Rotterdam called 'het witte huis', 'the white house'.
