In this video I restored an old german bean slicer which was made by 'Alexanderwerk' in 1922, which my friend Mister Patina gave me!
The work on the project took about 30 hours (inclusive filming) plus about 11 hours of editing.
I used an ultra sonic cleaner to deep clean the slicing parts. Ultrasonic cleaners are a very cool and under appreciated in my opinion.
Ultrasonic cleaners have ultrasonic transducers in it, which vibrate so fast that you can't hear the actual sound of it, because it is above the range the human ear can hear. The sound we hear is the sound of the machine itself vibrating. It is creating high acoustic pressure and creating cavitation bubbles (due to low pressure), which collapse and become liquid again. When they implode the create very high pressure (about 1000x atm!) and very high temperature and creating shockwaves (above the speed of sound!). This process is cleaning the parts.
Check out the video of @TheActionLab on Ultrasonic cleaners, it's a great video! • Can Ultrasonic Waves D...

Disclaimer:
The experiments are only for educational purposes and serve as entertainment.
I am experienced in handling the used substances and I advise everyone who is not a trained professional not to imitate the experiments I show you.
For experiments which could cause potential danger I will not tell you which chemicals I am using to prevent imitating. Those who know what is happening, know the chemicals anyway and probably are trained professionals. :)
I am not responsible for personal injury or property damage if any actions shown in the video will be imitated.
I hope you understand.
Until next time and happy holidays! :)
