I hauled this car for a friend. I know I will probably never haul anything else this old again, so it was worth making a video about it. What do you know about Model T Fords?
If interested in a TheCorvetteBen KZbin Channel window decal, please send $5 through PayPal to Benjamin.friend56@yahoo.com. If you are international, please contact me first about price!

To start it, be sure to turn the advance on the column up and just about halfway down on the gas you can crank it and not break your arm when it backfires if it does. Usually they don’t backfire.

Here in Georgia we drive them every month as a club. last year we went from 36 miles south of Atlanta all the way to Chattanooga Tenn. All back roads at 35 miles a hour. Great fun.

Met a gentleman at car show w/ a 1908 Jackson (completely restored w/ working crank start) and he drove it there. He did say that he had it up to about 50 MPH and he doesn't think he will ever do that again :-)

My Dad had a Model T delivery truck in our garage when I was a kid. I remember playing with the crank. He sold it to someone who restored it and did the car show circuit in the 80s. Not sure what ever became of it.

When I was 6 to 10 years old, I so called "helped" my dad work on many vehicles of that vintage, couldn't tell you how many buckets of them wood spokes I had sanded to rebuild those wheels... Was good sleep on them fenders when I did fit!!!

Simple translated to cheaper to produce which helped to create the revolution where everyone could buy and drive a car.

Yes updated electrical. Alternator, distributor, coil, and a starter usually for 12 volt system but that's a hand crank for starting so no starter

Engine defiantly had a lot of work done modifying it. with the high compression aluminum head and actual water pump ( originally just thermo siphon system ) and an aftermarket distributor as it originally had a timer for the vibrating coil ignition. probably raaised the horsepower fro the original 20 to probably closer to 35.

Super simple, until you try to drive it! Those pedals do not do anything you may think they should... T's had trembler coils, and thremo syphon, no water pump. That engine appears to be something a wee bit later...

I think water pump was added. Distributor was not like that. The 3 peddle system is unique. The left lever has to be leased to engage high gear. The planatary trans works like a c4 only no hydraulics and I think shares engine oil.

It needs a flathead V8 with 2 Stromberg carbs and headers. Then you could drive it at 70 MPH and you might change your mind about it :)

All the electrical, the distributor, coil, alternator, carburetor has been upgraded. Those engines used magnetos, and they are definitely not there anymore...
