I saw the Wren hop before but nothing like this. It was always short on power before even when they squeezed a little more out of it it would only just get off the ground. This was a truly majestic flight for the Wren. Thank you for sharing

That has got to be one of the goofiest, yet prettiest, planes I've ever seen. Looks like something an Art Deco artist made up for a poster. More videos of it please. Thanks.

This aircraft may well have been the inspiration for the glider built inside Colditz Castle, sadly it was never called on to fly two men to freedom and only one photograph ever exists with the plans. A replica was built and successfully flown before being placed in a museum.

Beautiful landing, so graceful. Can we have a closer look at the aircraft please.

Nice camera work mate. This is an amazing aircraft and I would love to fly this thing. Luckily there is one for sale for MSFS :P...

Needs to be made clear this was built to win a competition with ridiculous parameters!

This one was, yes, but the first of them was built for the Air Ministry as a training aeroplane. For the cost of £600.

Q is y this design that exceeded every other plane on all critical parameters by 3+ times wasn't made mainstream so that people could use this instead of cars for commute even

Charles Lindbergh used this plane to practice flying with no forward vision...lol! Flies nice though.

Anyone else here thinking this was going to be powered by battery power?
@leviercosmicwind4 жыл бұрын
The aircraft was manufactured by famous aircraft firm who designed and built the Lightning jet fighter, the Canberra bomber and the TSR2 multi-role aircraft, None of these were powered by electricity either. English Electric was absorbed into British Aircraft Corporation BAC and then British Aerospace. Their Warton factory is still working.
@markhull13664 жыл бұрын
@@leviercosmicwind Yes, after watching, I did a little research. I had never heard of English Electric before. My first thought was that someone had been experimenting with another electric design.Oddly enough, I have actually "kicked the tires" and helped launch a Canberra that was stationed at Shaw AFB as an assistant Crew Chief back during the Vietnam days. Very interesting watching them spool up using the black powder charge. We used to good naturedly call them "can-of-beer".

Hmm. Trouble is that when it's a few inches off the ground there looks to be ground effect suction to me.

It is not electric. He said motorcicle engine. Petrol engine, not electric.
@leviercosmicwind4 жыл бұрын
No, its not powered by electricity, it was made by the British aircraft manufacturer English Electric, who later made the Lightning supersonic fighter, the Canberra and the TSR2. This particular machine is powered by a small petrol engine.
