Did y'all not watch the show? Elsa's commentary in the first episode tells us explicitly that Spencer lives to see his own children grown and he carries the fate of the family through the depression.

1883 and 1923 are easily stand alone productions and could be continued without any lead in to Yellowstone. The writing and acting in these two tales are unbelievable and viewers are hopeful for much, much more. That said, I suspect that Brandon and Julia will be the pair who continue the Dutton line. And, I hope Timothy Dalton's character dies a violent death, lol.

I need Alex and Spencer making love..getting married..having babies. They're on their way home....I need the fight for the Land to happen...and I need the rest of the cast .EVERYONE together..intersecting....I need SEASON 2, 3, 4 ..well maybe just 3 Seasons. .all series get weird after the 3rd Season. And no one dies, please, and thank you!!!!

New to this show. I know but I only enjoy Beth and Jamie on Yellowstone. Then, I was bored and said I will try this and I LOVED 1923!!! Ready for season two. I wish Alex when running to Spencer’s Rolls Royce; she could have yelled at him “ Don’t leave me. Idiot, I’m your soulmate”😂😂😂

I believe it's Spencer and Alex that is the direct line. There were some subtle moments in "Yellowstone" that hint at it. It seems that it ends up going to whoever is the "hardest". And Spencer is freaking hard. Casey is hard, John is hard, Jacob is hard.
