1925 AUSTIN SEVEN SUPER SPORT (BEST AVAILABLE)

In 1923 Gordon England developed and built a small racing car built on the Austin Seven, the Brooklands models had great success holding many lap records.Attractive replicas were then made available to meet the demand for a small sports racing car and these were marketed as the Brooklands super sports at a cost of £265 plus options!Early examples had fabric body covering but a polished alloy body with boattail and streamlined fairings later became available costing around £505 compared to a standard Seven Chummy costing just £149.Well respected expert Tom Abernathy began production of 10 replicas of the Brooklands SuperSport in the 1970s and this stunning car is the first of those built.The last owner kept her for 12 years and has carried out several sensible upgrades such as improved modern engine oil seals, electric fuel pump etc meaning she really can be driven with good reliability.Indeed he did use her often and described to me how to stop her when you reach above 70 mph!She is the best available and the detailing is fabulous with only the best materials used the quality is to concours or show standardAlthough running on the correct Solex carb and magneto there are many spares including alternatives and she has obviously been featured in magazine articles.
On the road, she is great fun and surprisingly sprightly being so light.
