I can't imagine being so famous that over 100 years later, my autograph would be worth 8k, just for the signature.... no card or picture with it, just the ink!

Imagine that abraham lincolns autograph sold for $100,000 on a parlor card.... It blows my mind that people pay that for his stuff.
@maskedninjagames2788
@maskedninjagames2788 2 жыл бұрын
@@pilsplease7561 I can see that value though.... Lincoln is, by many, considered to be the 'what a President should be' President. He helped end slavery and he guided the North through a Civil war! Ruth was an over weight drunk who hit a ball for a living.... 🤣🤣😂

@@maskedninjagames2788 I bet Babe Ruth could say "let's not split the country". But I bet Abraham Lincoln couldn't hit 714 homers with a .342 batting average.

Epic collection if he wanted to sell I think the trading card companies like topps or panini would pay a ton for those on paper. They sell like $20k boxes that cards are built around signatures of players no longer living called cut signatures.

I love half the people posting here: "OMG!!!!111!! This collection was UNDERVALUED soooooooooo much!! I mean the Babe Ruth signature alone should be 10k, AT LEAST!!!!" In reality: The appraiser valued the Ruth signature at 8k. On 11/19/2022 a similar one sold for $7,620 with buyer’s premium. Amazing. It seems he knows what he's talking about.

People dont go on the show to get a realistic evaluation they go on to get their product on television, boost value gain attention. The real evaluation is done with professionals and auction houses, etc. nobody is disappointed by low figures bec they dont care, its about exposure

He’s way off. I’ve never seen a better Babe Ruth, Cy Young or Honus Wagner autograph anywhere. Beyond mint condition, it’s like they signed them 5 minutes before the camera ps rolled, yet they’re all 90+ years old.

Yeah that collection has to be closer to 100k+. That A's team signed ball has Mickey Cochrane, Al Simmons, Jimmie Foxx and potentially Ty Cobb and Tris Speaker. That's insane. Also Lefty Grove! Now I'm worked up about how low this appraisal was lol
@cappystrano1

Estimate seems way off until you go to sell them. The market always makes the corrections on estimates by “experts”. I have sold millions of dollars of baseball memorabilia and I believe the estimates were a bit high. I would hate to try and sell these items for the appraisals, especially the autographs. And yes, I know these were insurance estimates.
