From the Wilkes-Barré Preservation Society - "It's the July 3, 1928 parade commemorating the Sesquicentennial of the Battle of Wyoming on River Street. The film starts on Public Square with a representation of the old Mill Creek block house and an Indian Village."

Thanks for posting this. My dad might have been there since he lived in W-B and would have been around 7 years old.

I’m wondering if the “White Eagle drum and bugle corps” is pictured. My grandfather would have been 22 at the time and was the leader of that group from DuPont. I have his uniform jacket in storage and would love to reunite the film with that jacket if you can confirm he marched in that parade.

Man, the lighting is terrible. You'd swear it was filmed in 1928 or somethin.😉

I know you were joking, however, film scanning technology and editing is advancing dramatically. I look forward in a few years to re-scanning this and all my films, there's a good potential that we will be able to extract far more detail, even rather subtle detail, than currently viewable. Artificial Intelligence and quantum computing will change greatly enhance these old films. I'm rather looking forward to it.
